And just like that they rip apart our porous defense and it's 2-0.

    What are we doing!!!

Iwobi had the easy check pass for Xhaka to attempt a thunderbolt...Iwobi hesistates and crosses it into defenders legs, get on the same page guys!

Hallelujah! Iwobi & Ramsey create. Laca flub his take, but Auba bails him out by getting on the end of a huge value xG chance.

    1-2 Come on!

I think that was Kos trying the offside trap, no?

Edit: both of their goals we tried to play a collective high line/trap, so you can't really pin it on just one guy. Mustafi & Kos were coordinated on the first goal, and it was really just Kos on the 2nd because Mustafi was caught in midfield (which would be the more legit complain perhaps)

The attack has shown some life, if a bit profligate. Simply need to hold serve defensively.

Yup diamond up. Convert xhaxa to a CB. He is huge! Let lil terrier handle CDM. Ramsey gonna run out of gas...Ozil better get a chance.

Yup. It's only 45 mins, and perhaps not the biggest test he'll face but he looks like maybe he's ready to be our RB for a while.

The last 20 min were mad. It's like we are making wrong decisions over and over again in the box. Also, Auba is not a ball carrier. He is a finisher. I'd like to see Torreira/Xhaka pushed out to the left more to provide cover to Kola. His runs up are leaving us way too overexposed.

Also got to get Laca more involved in the attack. He has barely touched the ball on his front foot except that heavy first touch.

Move Ramsey to the marginal right and have Auba at point and Laca drifting under him.

TBF that was just a great aggressive tackle at midfield by Mustafi. One of his best attributes.

(desperately trying to look at glass half full?)

Now Kos is down with a bloody side of the face after a kick from Lukaku. Accidental it seems.

Man are we just not lucky with injuries lately.

Edit: They seem to be desperately trying to get the bleeding under control so that maybe he can keep playing. But I'm not sure there isn't something else wrong... maybe his jaw... he's grimacing a ton.

Kos off, with what may be a broken jaw, me thinks. Curiously it's Guen & Ozil who're coming on, and no Monreal. Oh boy this could be fun.

    Ozil appearance.

Insert "Like a new signing" joke here.

I've had that same reaction to an injury before and I just had a bruised jaw. If you get hit hard, it swells really quickly and everything gets all out of alignment. Hoping that's the case here.

Arsenal with almost double the possession, double the shots total and on-goal, yet trailing on the scoreboard. That script seems so familiar.

Either the passes to Kolasinac are coming in poorly, or his first touch is awful today. He keeps getting the ball in what looks like a great position, but then he dawdles for a second and there's a defender right on top of him, killing the chance.
