Forrest fans booing Mount due to his past associations with Derby from last season. Tomori? POY for Derby last year no booing.
Easy win but our usual 'problems' still on display. I think CHO starting to come back to fitness, played well but sometimes needs to make better decisions though (reminds me of Pulisic in that respect) - I do expect/hope that this will only get better with time and experience though- James looking good. We seem to have real problems 'finishing teams off' and they ALL seem to feel they have a chance to get back into the game because of it! Brighton at New Year a very good example.
Couldn’t record so had to make the 6am call for the stream on ESPN+. Seemed like a pretty easy cup win with a rotated squad (tho against their second squad). TO be fair tho, watching the game in bed meant I was drifting in and out of the second half. I feel bad for Bats, but he needs a Morata-like relocation. He’s better than he’s been showing. Maybe the pressure is too much here? Not worried about Pulisic’s time. The holiday fixture schedule is a nightmare and between three and domestic/European cups, it’s a lot. Every player is going to claim fitness. I don’t think Frank’s been infallible on his handling of him, but I think it’s trending in the right direction.
Today a bit different in that the system did not so much not set up kill shots but Bats missing 3 point blanks; I had higher hopes for him but time for him to try and refresh elsewhere and today clearly showed same can be said for Barkley and Emerson. Now James I would not sell for 500 million plus...what a player he is becoming
Best comment I saw about when James sucked the two pressers in and blew by them out of our deep corner: "Another commented: “They have families, for f***s sake.”"
