    Kickoff: 10am ET, 3pm GMT.
TV: Setanta USA (Delay) 5pm ET

Been a long time since I started a match thread. It's the Arsenal versus Plymouth Argyle in the oldest cup competition on Earth. Let's ring in the new year with a win! This may be our best shot at a trophy this year, so....KILL.

Hopefully there will be some streams for this one. We will probably see a very young lineup.

    4-1 to The Arsenal.

Oh ye of little faith. I see no mathematical elimination in the Premier League nor knockout in the Champions League as yet.

And let's save that "KILL" stuff for teams we REALLY don't like. Plymouth Argyle is worth the effort from the players; from the fans, not so much. They're a blip on the radar screen.

are you sure setanta is showing a same day delay?

i think we'll see a mixed line-up of kids and some first teamers.

    let's get 2009 started with a win.

not according to the email I received from Setanta US:

We were looking into coverage of this match, but it turns out that there will be only a few cameras (four, I believe) at the match, and therefore any coverage would be very limited. Considering this, we won't be showing the match.

If there is no coverage in the UK then wouldn't ATVO have it?

MyP2P has two stations listed for this match, although it also says unsure.
Plymouth sold out their 8600 ticket allocation, so we will probably be thoroughly outsung by their supporters .

Its hard to know what way we will line-up for this one. There is a reserve game two days later so we might see more of the U-18's promoted for that one or we might see more of the first teamers against Plymouth.

I just put up the team that id like to see. Its a must win but I think the kids can redeem themselves after the Burnley match.

Im sure we will have Fabianski, Gibbs, Ramsey, Vela and Bendtner all on the pitch plus the rest.

Hope everyone had a good holiday! Let's start the new year off right. 5-0 to the good guys! And we've determined that it will not be on tv right? I checked last night and didn't see it on Setanta. Anyone know of any good football bars in the Disney area of Orlando? Just in case the wife lets me get in any games! ;)

Sweet! The FA Cup is back. This may be Arsenal's only shot at a trophy.

My Prediction: 3-0 to The Arsenal

2-1 to the Arsenal, and a game that is tighter than we might expect.

As to broadcast of the game- I get the distinct feeling that I'll be watching a very poor quality stream in Chinese. One of the biggest clubs in the world gets 4 cameras? Very odd.

I think that's a pretty good lineup. Although I don't know who fills in for Hoyte b/c he's going to Watford on loan. Maybe Eboue? or Coquelin?

I really would like to see Ramsey and Randall start doing more of the simple things right though. I really like both players and I think if Randall were given more of a chance he could make a difference for the club but both of them tend to do the simple things half the time then do outrageous flicks the other half of the time, even when their in our own half.

Another option (although I don't think this is likely) if Coquelin isn't used to fill in at RB is to let him play his natural position of DM and drop one of Randall or Ramsey to the bench.

Excited for a change up from the league. Its strange to me even how much I like the FA cup alot, it seems like the english have a self fulfilling prophecy in regards to the "mystique" of the FA cup.

Hope to see a mix of the regulars and kids, especially Vela, Wilshere. How many reserve matches has Eduardo played? Right now him getting a start in the new year is thing im looking forward to most, unless we sign someone new.

Well said, The FA Cup is fascinating and you can count on upsets. I love the history and fact that it is still a valued trophy.

Yea I just read that. Didnt see it coming either!

We may also go with Lansbury or even Eboue for a little more experience. It really depends how many players are saved for the Reserve match on the Monday and how many first teamers Arsene wants to rest. Toure could do with all the minutes on the pitch that he can get ATM.

It probable has more to do with the setup of Home Park rather than the size of the clubs playing. There are very few Argyle matches shown on the big channels and this is probably why. Also, the last few matches I've seen broadcast from Home Park did look "limited" or with few cameras.

Anyway, with the departure of Holloway last season, I don't think they've been doing as well. Hopefully the lads put in a good performance and keep a clean sheet to move on to the next round.
