I don't believe it's a conspiracy, because if I do then I have to give up the whole thing, but in the last 7 FA cups Liverpool have drawn prem opposition 6 times in the 3rd round. How is that possible considering that the prem makes up less than 1/3 of the entire draw?
meanwhile .... Man United were drawn against League One side Wigan Athletic, with the match set to take place at the DW Stadium on the weekend of 6th-7th January. But remarkably, this is the first time that the Red Devils have been drawn away from home in a domestic cup competition for nearly three years
C'est la vie. Tough draw. But hey... still in the league title hunt, likely going far in (or winning) league cup, poised very well in EL. Can't all go your way.
Yeah I am with you. If we beat West Ham in the League cup the FA Cup becomes a distant 4th priority for me. So don't even mind drawing Arsenal early, it's a win win. We win and we've gotten rid of our competition, lose and reduce the fixture congestion. Only thing that will drive me nuts is if we lose they'll be a narrative that Klopp can't "handle" the FA Cup, ignoring that we always get prem opposition in the 3rd rd and that we literally freaking won it two seasons ago!
Arsenal typically play youngsters this early in the competition and with us both still in the title hunt, I would imagine both teams will roll out mixed squads.
Win two out of three of those, and I'll be happy...of course, I'll take 3 and 0, or even two wins and a draw would be great
Not nailed on, but looking like I’ve a ticket for L’Arse. In the home section unfortunately. But hey, will take it.
And then the Grinch comes along and says, “nope!” Oh well. There’ll be other opportunities for pints before a game. But I believe there are still tickets (ga, even) available in the Arsenal section.
