I'm sick of the NBA, their cavalcade of handcuff wearing misfits, morons and jerk-offs. I've switched to a new brew... slamball. These guys - they go out and play. You don't have all the surly attitudes. You don't have the ridiculous salaries. You have guys running and doing neat, new dunks, high flying stuff and taking shots in a far more risque version of hoops. And I like it. So F*** the NBA. No more Shaq who is too good to play for their country. No more whining guys to the officials. No more 100 million dollar contracts and best of all, no more Kobe Bryant.
Is this thing still on TNN? I use to watch it semi-regularly when it first started up. Haven't seen it though since this summer.
FearM9, are you talking about TNN or TNT? I'm 100% sure TNT won't telecast any of the games now. Just ESPN and NBC. GO NY GO NY GO
The ABC family (ABC/ESPN) and TNT will be showing games this year. ESPN/ESPN2 will show games on Wednesday and Friday nights, ABC will have weekend games, and TNT will show Thursday night games. NBC (thank God) no longer has the contract. I'm sorry, I got SO tired of Steve "Snapper" Jones, and the John Tesh theme music With that said, SlamBall is FUN as hell to watch. Pat Croce is a ************ing genius
I think FearM9 meant SlamBall on TNN. I see it every now and then, but it doesn't do anything for me. That said, neither does pro basketball.
Ever see the Conan O'Brien show where they talked about alternate uses for the John Tesh theme music? They had it played to "It's a Wonderful Life" when the guy takes off his coat and jumps in the river. It was hilarious.
Ironic that Snapper started with TNT/TBS. More ironic that NBC bought Telemundo, a Spanish language network, and Telemundo has NBA basketball this season. They don't mention what or how many games, all they say in their promos is...Muy Pronto...with various dunks and the like. Snapper better work on his Espan~ol.
Preach it. For me though, since other than an very occasional Celtics or Sactown game, cannot stomach NBA hoops, it's hockey and World Cup Skiing for me.
