When I heard the first reports of USL becoming MLS-2, I thought it would be a great idea. However, I don't think promo/reg would be available in the first couple of seasons. It would be a designated minor league. If the Jamaica site is true, or any of NYC site for that matter, then I see this as a solid NYC2 option. If Fred Wilpon is still interested, I think he should act fast.
Agreed, starting pro/rel right away might be more trouble than necessary at first. Although it is on the wish list for what I would like in my league. Yeah he needs to act act. Otherwise if there are any legs to this report then FCNY seems more inclined to be NYC2 than Wilpon himself. This could be speculation but maybe the Don was calling out Wilpon a couple of weeks ago when he said publicly that they hadn't spoken in months. Maybe it was the Don's way of saying, listen something is coming up, do something or move out.
i'm looking for news about the resurrection of the Cosmos but i'm not finding a damn thing. did Pepe Pinton really sell the rights to Paul Kemsley or is it just a rumor???
Pretty sure they did...unless Paul Kelmsley and Jack Bell of the NY Times lied (which I doubt). But if you waited this long for the resurrection of the Cosmos, why not wait a few more months or even a year for news. It's much better to present the product polished and prepared rather than frantic and unorganized. Be patient.
