Congratulations to Juve, they deserved it and outclassed Real Madrid!

They exposed the Real defence and proved once again that it takes more than just signing a couple of superstars to win everything!

Now that I think about it, Real might not even win their league title and are in jeopary of going trophy-less this season! What a shame!

With Makele in for Real, no way that Juventus scores 3 goals. Figo misses the penalty, but that's part of the game. The difference today was the missing Makele. His absent made the defense porous, and limited offensive opportunities. At full strength, Real Madrid are the best in the world. That's football for ya. :(

Well, remember, it took two legs, and Davids AND Tacchinardi were missing for Juve in the first leg.

Why does an AS Roma fan celebrate a Juve victory?
Also don't red card him, he just can't speak English very well.

Give him a red card because he's pretending to be Italian.

No sane person would do that.

Let the guy celebrate Oscar!!! And people don't even try to make excuses for Real Madrid. They were outplayed by Juventus.... period. Let's hope Madrid keep spending money, don't win anymore trophies & go bankrupt!!!

Anyone else think that Zidane should have taken the Penalty? He is among the most clutch players in the game.

Figo has always been a bit of a headcase in my Opinion.

Maybe they outsmarted themselves by thinking Buffon might be more familiar with Zidane's PK style from all of his years in Serie A. Then again, Buffon and ZZ were never teammates and ZZ almost never took PKs for Juve (that was Del Piero's job). Not sure. Perhaps a Real fan would know.

Figo has taken all the PK's this year for Madrid. Not sure how many he has taken but he has 6 goals by PK this year in La Liga.

How do you know he's not Italian? And besides, since when must you HAVE to be born to a certain nationality to enjoy their sport. I am 0% Italian, although my children are 50%. I guess you could argue that they are really 100% American, but the percentages don't add up since my husband is 100% Italian. Anyway ... does that mean I cannot be a fan of Italian teams, but my children can? Ridiculous.

That reminds me of what my 4-year-old daughter said to me while I was watching the Revs-KC game the other night - "mommy, why do you watch a soccer game EVERY day?" :D

    ¿Isn't it obvious?

There's a difference between enjoying one's sport, and supporting it. And an American 'supporting' an Italian club, which he has no connection to whatsoever, makes no sense. No lie.

It makes even less sense for an American, who has no connection to AS Roma but still 'supports' that team, to celebrate when Juventus wins a game. No lie #2.

Where did I say you or they cannot 'support' other countries (teams) which they have no connection (none, zippo) to at all, you people can do whatever the Hell you want, I'm just saying it's funny. :)

Well, it seems you've definitely enjoyed the American education system.

Whatever. I think a Spaniard living in Holland is funny, too. I made a point of not posting anything or seeming to gloat in the Spain forum after Wednesdays' game. We've all been there and losing is not fun. And by the way, criticizing fans of a team for being happy that their team won just makes you look bitter.

    Easily amused?

Wouldn't make much sense with you being '100%' American now would it?

That would indeed be true, but seeing as I'm not critizing any supporters of the team that won (you 100% American, and he 'supports' AS Roma) all is still good. :)

You have an unfortunate provincial view of things. I thought it was Americans who had narrow views, not Europeans.

I support Juventus because it's my (Italian) husband team. Is that not a noble thing to do? We met playing soccer and fell in love because of our shared passion for the game. We honeymooned in Italy during Juve's triumphant '95-'96 Champions League campaign. Modern technology allows us to view Serie A games live every week. I'm ALSO dedicated to my hometown team and attend their games (and maintain a fan website), but they've only existed since 1997, so I've actually followed Juve for longer. If you still feel it's not "right" for me to care, then that's all I have to say to you. Making others "justify" their dedication to a team seems to be a very wierd thing for some people.
