Everytime I've seen Nicaragua actually play in the last 3-4 years, he's always the one that shines/stands out. I hope he can actually look back on his career satisfied and at least he was there during Nicaragua's greatest futbol moment, qualifying and competing in the 09 GC.

Samuel Wilson is a Zinedine Zidane-type player (the same emotional problems,) has days when he shines and others when he´s completely invisible. Still, besides Rudel Cadero (who plays mainly in the air) Nicaragua dosn´t have too many forwards.

They've seemingly got some good young up and comers in the U21's so that could be promising for the future.

I hope Nicaragua can continue to improve. I believe they have more potential than Belize.

I really hope someday Nicaragua can compete with the rest of CONCACAF (at least) they have a tremendous amount of potential but the Nicaraguan federation is corrupted, julio rocha just wants money for himself and doesnt do jack sh*t to help the game grow in Nicaragua, the corruption is stalling the growth of the sport. If it wasnt for that we'd be investing money on the youths, friendlies for our national team, training facilities and to finally finishing that damn Estadio Nacional de Managua thats been taking a century to finish. The solution to this problem is to get rid of julio rocha, but sadly i dont see that happening anytime soon. As the country of my parents and the country of my blood and background, Nicaragua I love you but corruption is destroying you. I'll support u till i die, win or lose, but i hope to one day see u progress farther than you already have and possibly make it to the final rounds of world cup qualifying and who knows maybe even farther. USA & NICARAGUA TIL I DIE!

Seems as though they had a change of heart as the women's competition is currently being held (although again, not all qualified nations agreed to participate).

Nicaragua's opening match was yesterday against Trinidad and Tobago. The game ended 4-0 in Trinidad's favour.

    Their next matches will be.....

    Tomorrow v Haiti
    Wednesday v Venezuela
    Friday v Puerto Rico
    Sunday v Guatemala
