I guess I will reply here. I found the old thread today and enjoyed reading the commentary.

Nicaragua looked eager against Mexico, but out ranked. The defense in front of the net seemed chaotic as they tried desperately to clear balls. The first goal as result of penalty was a joke and unfortunate. I bet that played a number on the minds of the players. You could tell there was frustration on the field and I laughed when the goal keep gave the ref "the bird". The announcers said " Y alli el portero dice "toma" " .... that was funny.

I have tickets to Thursdays game at Reliant Stadium. My there are 8 of us going in support of Nicaragua... My brother and cousins were born there, while I was born in New York. I'm hoping for the best....

    Vamonos Pinoleros!!!!

Samuel Wilson is being scouted by Liga Deportiva Alajuelense, one of Costa Rica's biggest clubs. Samuel Wilson had a good game vs Mexico and the scouts will keep an eye on him to see how he does on the Gold Cup. How he performs will determine how much will Alajuelense pay for his service.

Samuel Wilson was a key factor in Nicaragua's qualification to the Gold Cup.

Liga Deportiva Alajuelense are one of the most successful teams in CONCACAF being CONCACAF Champions on two occassions (1986 & 2004) and Central American Champions 3 times (1996, 2002, & 2005).

    He scored twice against guatemala.
Despite our 2 losses I think some of our players (Collado, Calero, Wilson, Sanchez, A. Reyes) have looked good and Im hoping MLS, USL, etc. is watching and signs our Pinoleros because this will help our national team a bunch!

Not sure if these names have been mentioned before but just thought i'd throw them out there.

Larry Taylor - Villa Española (2nd division Uruguay)
Volker Martinez - Boldklubben Marienlyst (4th division Denmark)

Taylor has played in Colombia and is Nicaraguan-Colombian.
Martinez was born in Denmark from Nicaraguan parents.

Have either Taylor or Martinez been capped yet? Never heard of them and can´t find anything on them.

I had heard Taylor had been capped (not sure at what level) but the Colombians here on BS still see him as one of their own so that might not be true. Martinez as far as i know has never been capped or even contacted for that matter.
