Been listening all morning after waking up to BBC radio reporting that there were 7 explosions on the Tube as well as one on a bus. Just want to make sure all the London-based folks here are okay, and to let you know you're in our thoughts. For more info - http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/4659093.stm
ive been watching that on the news here for a few hours now, some truely disturbing scenes. awfull stuff and to echo riz, heres hopeing all our london based friend's from all clubs are safe and unharmed.
Although I live in London I am working at at Guildford at the moment. I guess it was just a matter of time. Soft targetsl ike the tube are totally undefendable against fanatics.
Incredibly upset by this. We are just talking about ordinary people on the tube and buses going to work. I cannot fathom the sick minds of these people. I was just watching the bbc news and Ken Livingtone summed it up really. These are just ordinary people. Thinking of London.
May all Chelsea BigSoccer supporters in London, their family and friends be well. My heart and prayers go out to the UK and especially London.
Looks like the scum did a bit of a botched job. That and our security forces know what they're doing. A few suspect devices have been found and defused (one in Leicester Square) and the death toll does not appear to be that high. We managed to kill one of them, shot dead when he tried to carry a bomb into Canary Wharf which is heartening. Still no hope of getting home for many as London's at a standstill, but hopefully things should return to normal by the end of the week, except for those who got caught in the blasts. Looks like we won't get the true picture until tonight.
Joining the chorus of support for fellow "civilized" innocent people in London and the UK. Thoughts and prayers go out to all affected. Unfortunately this only shows that the terrorists, wherever they are, are unwaivering in their goal to inflict pain and suffering to those who do not share their beliefs. We must show an even greater resolve against them.
Prayers to London and the English people. This must steel our two great nations' resolve to eliminate these "people" from the Earth.
I was in London last fall for a semester, crazy to think, i took the Edgeware Road tube stop atleast twice a day. Also as my friend pointed out, and i think this is true, are islamic fundementalists claiming reposnsibity? If you know anything about Edgeware Road, its the heart or london's middle eastern community.
Was also in London last fall's semester...was at Aldgate East multiple times each week...prayers for the families of all involved.
It was terrible, my sister was close to one of the areas where the explosions went off, as she works in central London. Me, i live in west London so i was alright, but its a terrible thing. Now i know how people in New York must have felt. MY SYMPATHIES AND WELL WISHES GO OUT TO ALL MY FELLOW LONDONERS.
Sympathies to anyone who was involved. I've yet to hear from my relatives in London, but hope they are OK...........
