probably this is new? I couldn‘t find anything earlier today. EDIT: now I see it, I missed it somehow
Last I checked, a DAZN subscription was one of the more expensive streaming services around. Especially given the lack of content they offer. At least here in the U.S (not sure about Europe).. I'm not exactly sure what the "free-to-view" term means in the streaming world.
I think it means create an account and watch for free (not all content on DAZN is free). I just downloaded the app. Will try it for the draw tomorrow.
yes, you need an account (trial is possible as well) and you can watch free events which are very rare, they do it from time to time to advertize themselves. club world cup will be one of these events and FIFA+ content should be added as well. everything else is premium, for some content such as UFC additional age check per document upload is needed. they offer pay per view events as well and for NFL fans outside US and canada they are exclusive provider for gamepass where you can watch all NFL games. it is UK based company that recently had financial problems, but it looks like they found an investor now, since just recently they acquired saturday games of german bundesliga and now club world cup as well. it definitely stinks after petrol money.
Thanks. Yes, I just went to their website out of curiosity. A monthly subscription is $30, so I was right when saying it is one of the more expensive streaming subscriptions out there. But its good to know that the CWC seems to be one of the few things that you can watch with a free DAZN account.
If I'm not mistaken they're the largest sports streaming service globally. They're the principal domestic broadcaster for Serie A and Ligue 1 in Itlay and France respectively and they share BL domestic rights in Germany with Sky.
Also share La Liga with Movistar+ in Spain. So yeah, they seem quite big globally, but are a small fish in North America where they just offer niche content like darts, women's La Liga, women's UCL, etc.
Bank of America expands FIFA partnership and sponsors Club World Cup 2025: https://finance.yahoo.com/news/bank-america-expands-fifa-partnership-125132669.html Things are starting to come together, commercially anyway.
DAZN has come to the rescue of FIFA by agreeing to a reported $1 billion deal to acquire the exclusive global broadcast rights to next summer’s Club World Cup. The UK-based streaming service, which has made losses of several billion dollars, plans to broadcast all 63 games for free. https://worldsoccertalk.com/tv/dazn...GXXjadd5NwT2Dz4f6s_aem_RbCV0Z6KlGcBNVas4SuYmg
Geez, you don't have to know much about this business to understand how they are losing billions of dollars.
Also on the FIFA website: https://www.fifa.com/en/watch/27FkfUo91YzFHjomGGaTPN I’m watching on DAZN and it’s working fine.
