Ok, so I know it's not my trip to the World Cup last summer, but I'm really starting to get excited about the Gold Cup! I know... I know... The opponents aren't that sexy. But if you think about it. The stakes are interesting. We get to see our new-look team in action. We get to see how our new manager (who ever that ends up being) performs in games that aren't friendlies. If we win, we go to the Confederations Cup in 2009. And we get to travel around the country watching the USA play soccer and drink beer with fellow supporters. I plan on seeing all but one of the games. I'm going to LA, Boston for the quarters, and Chicago. (I just hope the U.S. doesn't get derailed before the final!) I'd thought long and hard about going to Copa America. But issues (both of safety and of more practical concerns) won out. Now, I can't wait for June 7. Hope to see as many fans as possible in LA!
I'm extremely excited. It seems like forever since the last nats game I was at ( US Mexico in Glendale ), and we will be fielding a strong squad, and hopefully we can get to the final and beat mexico dos a cero. Ill be there for both games in LA and the semi and final in Chicago. I cant wait.
i ********ing excited as ********, im ********ing stoked, it will be ********ing great can't wait to see the US beat those cheating, diving, guatemala pansies
Being that it's OUR regional championship, with a Confed Cup 2009 spot on the line & our "A" team playing at the HDC in a "meaningful game" for once, I'm PSYCHED for this Gold Cup!! Just ordered my tix & will be attending both games at the HDC!! Our group is WEAK but so what??!! It's a tournament, with A LOT on the line!! It'll be GREAT to see our the MLS guys & the Euros interact & perform!! GO, USA!!
Alright, it's May... what? 10th? My tickets for the semi's and final arrived about a month ago, the hotel reservations have been made. But it's still more than a month before the games I'll be attending, and there's still that pesky possibility we won't make it that far. I probably shouldn't be getting so excited yet... but F@&#!! I am!!!
I'm getting pretty fired up. The Int'l game is such a different level and joy to see live. I'm lucky enough to dwell in the Boston area and have 2 Gold Cup doubleheaders w/ the USMNT in 1 week and then head only 6hrs North to Montreal to support the U20s in the WC (that's where I'll try and relive my Germany experience from '06!). Just wish I could be heading to Venezuela too! I'm curious to read posts on that experience.
