FSU 2, UGA 1(of note, FSU's GK Ali Mimms went down with an injury, don't know the extent, just read it in the match report on UGA's website) Florida 7, Jacksonville 0 The match was contested as three 30-minute periods. Florida jumped out to an early lead just four minutes into the match with a goal from senior Kara Rao. Junior Robin Fulton contributed the next three consecutive goals, scoring in the 11th, 13th and 27th minute. In the second period, junior Megan McMillan turned in the only goal in the 55th minute with Monica Hoyles getting the assist. Florida scored twice in the final period. Junior Crystal Frimpong took the ball down the field 35 yards to score of an unassisted 10-yard shot in the 66th minute. Freshman Jamie Garside turned in UF’s final goal in the 85th minute. Any other exhibition matches played tonight?
Carolina 4 Notre Dame 2 UNC defeated Notre Dame in Ft. Wayne Indiana by a score of 4 to 2. Goals were by Alyssa Ramsey, Cat Reddick, Susan Bush and a Leslie Gaston header off an Anne Felts corner. Starting line up included Ramsey, Felts, Bush up top, Randolph, Walker, McDowell and Tomecka at midfield, Watley, Reddick, Gaston in back and Branam in goal. The entire travel team got to play.
Just an update on FSU's GK Ali Mims. She fractured her tibia and is lost for the season. Hopefully she'll recover and be back for next year, best of luck to her in her rehab.
man that sucks for Mims! I met her when I tried out for the Jade; she's a really cool person! I wish her a nice speedy recovery, she's a great player and the Noles could really use her!
