How'd you like your kid going to a school where the librarian is a member of X? After reading through the petition, I think TSG has it wrong. She's not asking for $18K per month - she's asking for what appears to about $25K total, over two years. And, it doesn't look like he is required to pay for the kid's college tuition. All in all, if my understanding of the #s is right, then I'd tell him to just pay the money and be done with it. He could easily incur over $25K in legal bills if he fights.

Well, it sounds like 18k a month, due to the career explosion. Why wouldn't a father who's come into money not use that to improve the life of his child? If you do the math, 3K a month is $36K a year. If Excene's librarian, what are the chances she's pulling in more than $40k a year, so a combined income of $76K. Now, if Daddy's pulling in a couple million or so per movie, I think he ought to chip in a bit more for his son.
I agree. Mortensen credits his son for getting him to do LotR and got him a role in hte movies...I have a feeling his son is not left wanting.
