Sipping a glass of white whine in a cafe just outside Buenos Aires last night, Juan Forchetti wiped a tear gently from his eye and spoke of the "wonderful opportunity to come to America." At that moment, Forchetti, a handsome young man of 22 years stood up and embraced his teammate Jose Galvan, who then broke down crying. In an exclusive interview, Forchetti and Galvan told me they will be arriving in the States next week, and how they plan to change the face of American sports forever. More to come later. Also, my in-depth, sit-down interview with Phil Anschutz and Osama Bin Laden. Now back to war coverage. From Baghdad, I'm Jayson Blair.
They were also nice enough to insist their MetroStars debut be at Giants Stadium on May 24 so I would be able to witness it personally. Such a kind gesture from the Boca boys to a River fanatico. I was so touched by it that I wept.
It's amazing that local papers have time and money to send their reporters to Argentina. I lobbied for that job for years, but got nowhere. Alas! There're still young latinos to see in the parks of New York, I guess.
Re: Re: Exclusive! Update on Argies You are not giving this up and coming minority poster his fair share, likely due to your racial prejudices you probably expect him to be lying because of his color. It is sad you do not respect the diversity he brings to this board. I say we promote him to moderator.
Re: Re: Exclusive! Update on Argies ditto to yours....... and now mine i guess. good to see paul gardner posting here. who would ever have thought jayson blair would be the one to get him posting on the metro board.
