Here's something from Roger Cohen, one of the best soccer writers for the International Herald-Tribune, about our defense and Fabione in particular. This guy really gets it! http://blogs.iht.com/tribtalk/sports/worldcupcohen/2006/06/eternal_italy.php
this was a good comment... "OK, Charlie, I assume you're referring to Grosso, and not to Bresciano's Acadamy Award-winning quadruple roll after the foul from Materazzi. Bresciano looked like he'd been shot by a cannon ball-- certainly that had nothing to do with the ref punishing a textbook yellow card foul with a red. Funny that Bresciano was then able to shake off what appeared to be a broken knee and concussion and take the subsequent free kick. Or maybe, just maybe, it didn't hurt that bad and he was being 'overly dramatic... to try to influence the referee.'"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3AmPy5GtX5Q&search=materazzi australia watch the 50 tumbles in a row...i still think Bresciano hardly got touched and tthat Zambrotta got most of that impact.
true, true not that it really matters, but since the anglo-saxons posters are on a crusade against dives and embellishment of fouls, it's surprising they overlooked Bresciano's theatricals. Or isn't it?
no surprise, it's the general double-standard that exists in today's football world. Argentinians and Italians are divers and the rest of the world play hard nosed football and stay on their feet.
I just saw the video about the "Italian training camp". Fools laugh and flaunt their ignorance. It's not even about Italy, it's a commercial for/of England from Euro '04. All this unwarranted Italy hate angers me. http://www.footballfansfortruth.us/archives/001515.html
