I have seen some dumb soccer takes in my life, hell, I’ve had plenty of them- but the absolute dumbest take I’ve seen in my life may well be the ranking of the worst Chicago DPs of all time as 1. Jairo Torres 2. Shaq. Holy shit. I mean, if our team existed for only the past two years, sure, probably :ROFLMAO: My goodness.

If we only existed for 2 years, we would still have Doumbia AND Gimenez to account for in our "worst DP" list!

Absolutely. It’s completely unsurprising that his antics have continued but it sounds like Aston Villa has the resources to push him over the hump.

I like to think our new training facilities will be a bit more professional so the next Jhon Duran that shows up will maybe take the situation more seriously.

Hell of a goal for Aston Villa against Bayern yesterday.

Sounds vaguely familiar ( most expensive player in MLS, playing in Soldier Field,
    International management, wealthy owner,etc.)
Hopefully the new training facility will have more of a positive impact on results.

This doesn’t make any sense but that’s OK.

I can see it making an impact on results in that with better more professional amenities one would hope that would equate to a better more professional club situation that would possibly attract better and more professional talent looking for a better more professional club which would then possibly affect results. Point being, in theory it makes the TD/Sporting Director's job a bit easier versus let's say a pitch that goes something like, "Well it's a great city...the club sucks and we play on a pointy throw ball field and the team keeps losing but also our training facilities are garbage! You interested?"

There have been other prior actions some people thought would improve results but they apparently have not helped, maybe the training facility will. My first step is a better coach.

Doubtful it would hurt our chances of convincing the next Jhon to stick around a little longer.

“Come practice in the middle of an industrial gravel pit with the stench of rotten corn wafting over the garbage pile hill” just doesn’t have the same ring to it as maybe the new facility will…

EDIT: “I almost forgot that if practice stretches into the evening hours we even have lights powered by diesel generators to help strengthen your lung capacity!”

  14. [QUOTE="xtomx, post: 42571283, member: 17201"Interesting, as Duran was subject to another transfer rumor in Friday.

I suppose this might make a potential transfer more lucrative for Aston Villa.[/QUOTE]
And the Fire get 10% of any transfer fee.

What in the world is an associate head coach? I know what an assistant coach is, but this new title is a new one for me.

    "Guilty" as charged.

I just didn't like him as a player, way too many boneheaded plays ("Calvoisms").

Especially at this salary, I expected more from him.
I hoped he could be a leader out there, and just didn't happen for him in Chicago.
