There was even a a gentleman in a suit thanking everyone for coming to the game. This organization is waaaay more professional than the previous.

If only our guys could head it into goal like Calvo did yesterday. Twice even.

At least we had Navarro giving up the ball in our defensive third 3-4 times in the first half.

I am beginning to wonder if we should have kept Calvo and played him up front so he cannot give up dumb costly mistakes but might head a ball in now and then...unlike our forwards.

I didn’t watch the whole game but I sure did see Djordje whining at his teammates a lot last night

#cf97 legend Jack Harrison just scored for Leeds. Wonder what number on the Collier scale he is for Leeds?

Coached by actual Fire Legend Jesse Marsch.

It was a hell of second half comeback by Leeds.

Lucky Mkosana, Dilly Duka, and Elliot Collier scored for their respective teams in the Open Cup last night. Drew Conner go a red card for Madison. Jiggles must be beaming reading this.

Sigh. Yes, here's a quote for him from SA:

The other MLS team to lose on Wednesday was Austin FC, which fell in its first Open Cup appearance, dropping a 2-1 overtime decision at San Antonio FC, whose only previous meetings with MLS teams in the Open Cup ended in defeats (4-0 to the Houston Dynamo in 2016 and 1-0 to FC Dallas in 2018).

A pair of former MLS players, Elliot Collier and Carter Manley, scored for SAFC, which came back to win in overtime after trailing with eight minutes to play in regulation.

    9:30. No classes today.

Fire can't score against a League 1 team.
Collier scored against an admittedly average MLS team.

Why wouldn't you keep him? Especially considering the lack of depth, how cheap he was, and now we're in a position where honestly every single striker in the club needs a good long think on the bench.

  21. This may change, but I would expect Herbers, Gimenez, Shaqiri & Teràn to be out. I'll run the risk of starting Czichos because benching our strikers leaves few bodies of drinking age left.

Jiggs lineup for Saturday in Minnesota:

    Gaga
    Sekulic, Omsberg, Czichos, M. Navarro
    Pineda, F. Navarro, Dre Reynolds
    Espinoza, Guti, Bornstein

    Happy with that?

    Because he sucked royally.

I do think it was short sighted that they dumped him without any replacement, but he should be easily replaceable.
Pretty much any striker from the second/third European league would be an improvement.
I imagine there are dozens of USL -level strikers could be suitable replacements.

However, the Fire should have ambitions several steps (entire stair cases) above replacing Elliot Collier.

Fire’s B side couldn’t score a goal in the run if play against a League 1 team.

Collier scored against an admittedly average MLS team’s B side.
