I got to have a better moment later that year at the Fire 20th Anniversary. More people I cared about there.
Double Chicago Fire reference. Ex-Fire player Eric Wynalda has been fired as Las Vegas Lights head coach. Rumor is ex-Fire "head coach" Frank 'potato' Yallop is being named as his replacement. That'll work out well, I am sure. https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2020...dly-set-be-named-new-las-vegas-lights-manager
Ex-Fire "player" (for about 12 minutes) Jack Harrison is likely going to be a starting player in the Premiership (which sucks of course) next season. The BBC reported today that he is likely to stay at newly promoted Leeds for another season on loan from Manchester City. Meanwhile, the "great" player we traded Jack Harrison for in 2016 has already retired. Also, to recap the 2016 "we just shook up the f'n soccer world, boys" Draft: What the Fire gave up: Jack Harrison is in the EPL and had a 20 million pound transfer value, although Leeds will likely get him for less. Joevin Jones (who we traded for what became the No. 12 pick) is a regular player and MLS Cup winner in Seattle. Tim Howard (who Colorado signed with the #1 Allocation we gave them) was a 3 1/2 year starter for Colorado, an All-Star and, well, is Tim Howard. Emmanuel Appiah (Colorado's crapshoot pick) bounced around MLS for a while and is now in the Finnish first division. The Fire: Brandon Vincent has retired. Jonathan Campbell has retired after being released by the Fire and sitting on the bench for Seattle. Alex Morrell managed four games for the Fire and is in the USL with some team named Greenville Triumph.
Didn't know where else to post this. I had an Iron81/Don Walsh sighting today. I was having lunch with a couple of friends and at another table, sitting all by himself, was our "friend" all alone, wearing a Fire jersey and a new "FireFC" facemask. I did not approach or engage. I considered it; I was going to ask his thoughts on the Fire meltdown, but thought better of it.
Oh, I highly doubt that. Andrew Hauptman is not there. If the Fire had won Thursday, I probably would have spoken with him. As for Wausau, I will have news during the week.
Ex-Fire "legend" Grant Lillard is moving from Miami to Columbus. He made a total of 0 appearances for Miami.
