i’m sure Jimmy would love to see some sort of positive cash flow in the transfer market. If Tall takes noting but losses, it will be hard to justify another big swing if you keep missing

Sorry if this was already mentioned, but Matan is now with Greek club Panetolikos (via free transfer), who currently sit in 9th place in the 14 team Super League 1. -13 GD, 15 points from 16 games; a mere 25 points out of first place. Anyway, he seems to be starting and playing close to 90 minutes most games. 2 goals and one assist this season.

"...Adi was previously the Twos’ assistant coach across the 2024 and 2025 seasons"

*Edit - wikipedia says he was the U19s head coach beginning in 2023 *shrug*

For those who came in late, Timo was a good guy but had a very bad run as Crew HC and resigned in the middle of.the team's inaugural season despite fielding Brian McBride, Brian Maiseneuve, Brad Friedel, Robert Warzycha, Mike Clark, etc.

He was replaced by the wonderful Tom Fitzgerald, who got great results from the same roster (Timo was 4-11, Fitz was 7-1) before getting knocked out of the playoffs in the semis by the Tampa Bay Mutiny.

Wasn't Freidel added somewhere in that general timeframe?

    The other archival facts:

All tied games ended in the famous 35-yd shootout. Players had five seconds to score from 35 yards out. Once the ball was shot, the player could no longer touch it. (It's probably more exciting than standing at the spot, but whatever.) Three points were given for a regulation win, one for a shootout win and zero for any loss. (None of this "OT loss" business the NHL has.)

Records were listed as W-L-SW making things seem weird since it was impossible to tell how many times a team lost in a shootout.

Anyhoo, the interesting part of the playoffs was that it was three games per round, but the second and third games were hosted by the higher seeded-team in order to save on travel costs.

How often do we see the lower-seeded team host game one?

The clock for the shootout could be seen for a number of years under the stands at HCS.

Indeed it could along with old ad boards. I want to say it was even there after the stage was built...they just moved it from the north stands to the south. I'm sure it's long-since been tossed out, especially since it had the OG logo on it.

There are some old NASL games on YouTube with the 35 yrd line Shootout. Kind of fun to go back and watch.

Also, was it 5 seconds to shoot or 5 seconds to score?

With the MLS shootout, it was five seconds to release the ball.
