No idea. They released the agenda for their next board meeting and it says that the next Tifo will be for the 30th anniversary celebration on 8/23.
I'll give you a little inside knowledge. Guille is a known supporter of Javier Milei, and that doesn't jive with the Nordecke politics. Sorry @TKyle
Perhaps they were too busy making a tiny tifo with some drag queens on the old crest and couldn't fit a tifo honoring arguably the biggest club legend into their schedule.
The prior creative director left after being ridiculed by gatekeeping former creative directors and celebrity fans who said things weren't up to par. Those people then predictably didn't volunteer to help at all and the position would have been unfilled if a guy who attends all the meetings didn't step up and say he'd do his best. The problem is he's a complete novice with no background in art or design, and he travels extensively for work, and again no one is willing to step up and lend a hand. So we now end up with a mini tifo every couple months. It's a perfect distillation of what happens when people who are purportedly adults chose to engage in petty infighting and tribal politics like a bunch of three year olds.
Milei is known for his flamboyant personality, distinctive personal style, and strong media presence, including using his catchphrase "¡Viva la libertad, carajo!". He has been described politically as a right-wing populist and right-wing libertarian who supports laissez-faire economics, aligning specifically with minarchist and anarcho -capitalist principles. Milei has proposed a comprehensive overhaul of the country's fiscal and structural policies. On social issues, he opposes abortion and euthanasia and supports civilian ownership of firearms. He also supports freedom of choice on drug policy and sex work. In foreign policy, he advocates closer relations with the United States and Israel. Had to look this up from Wikipedia but yeah I would say his beliefs probably don’t align with a lot of ppl in Nordecke. But it should have absolutely nothing to do with it. But hey keep making trans tifos. Everyone has different priorities and values. So sticking to your beliefs comes to no surprise.
https://www.dispatch.com/picture-ga...ience-columbus-in-the-90s-photos/84591689007/ The Dispatch had a fairly decent photo dump of old photos around Columbus. They're not all Crew-related, but here's the Crew ones. There's a few more involving Ohio Stadium and some of the airport and other various scenes around town.
There's a lot of chatter about Fluminense buying Marino Hinestroza from Nacional. Apparently they want Hinestroza to replace Jhon Arias who is moving to Wolves for about $22m. I believe we own a 50% sell on for Hinestroza and his value has skyrocketed, so we could be in for a pretty decent payday. Transfermarkt has him valued at $6m currently, but I think Fluminense would end up paying a good chunk more than that for him. We will probably end up netting a few million from our acquisition of him and eventual sale when all is said and done, if the reports are accurate.
It may have been the former poster known as Froggy's New Pants who experienced a van breakdown while driving around northeast Ohio and, low and behold, the person who came to his rescue was none other than Marcelo Carrera. I'm sure @Ch(Elsey) will correct me.
Hes a terrific guy. He coached my son Mookie for a while in Canton. People in that area will understand when I say that he used to meet them at the McKinley Monument and have them run those hellacious steps until they were all dying and then take them on a run through the park, maybe 3 miles. Marcelo did it all right along with them and as the guys were collapsing on the ground close to comatose, he'd be bouncing around like a puppy. Amazing fitness.
That era of MLS is wild. SKC playing in a minor league baseball stadium. Chivas USA existing. Streamers everywhere. Crewzers. Frankie Hejduk. About 75% of MLS fans never got to experience this magical time.
