Yet phil Quinton had his option picked up. He had a really good season for RSL, playing every position on the backline. I really think Degenek and Vallecilla were the problems last year. I imagine Lalas will find himself paired next to Aaron Long in Chicago next season.
Ggggg has the potential to turn Chitcago around over the next couple of years—if Manseuto will spend some $.
Phil Quinton was 100% a problem. Nancy's system was asking way too much of him relative to his abilities. He can be a serviceable defender in the right system, as we saw with RSL, but he is not equipped to be a CB on a Wilfried Nancy team.
Don't know if this has been reported here, but Aiden Morris has a knee injury and it out for a bit.... https://sbisoccer.com/2024/11/aidan-morris-sidelined-a-number-of-weeks-with-knee-injury
Yeah he had an MCL injury in usmnt camp. He's training to the side and was expected back this weekend, but he is still not ready. He's been a bright spot for Boro who now have a serious injury and illness bug
I'd like to know what the hell happened out there. The Rapids loved him, signed him after the loan for good money and he was IIRC their defender of the year and an All Star. He was the one bright spot in a truly wretched defense. Now, a couple years later, they tossed him out of the boat for free.
Congrats to Lucas Zelarayan who was freed from Saudi Arabia and is returning to his boyhood club in Argentina
I'd like it even better if he was also headed to Columbus for an induction ceremony. It's LONG past time that the people running the team - and who originally acknowledged that they held the Crew as a legacy and trust - to get off their overpaid asses and did the right thing for arguably the greatest Crew player ever. Can you imagine the roar if Gullie was to walk out onto that field? It would rip.the roof off the place. Mass hysteria. Time to get it done.
We finally got the roof we always wanted and you want to rip it off already? Geesh some people are never happy. /s
I wonder if the Crew beat reporter even knows who Guille is. I also assume that a fair percentage of current Crew fans might have only a vague memory of him and that '08 team.
Ran into Jake Morris at the Grandview Giant Eagle. Artur is also in town per his wife on reddit as she is from here.
Wil Trapp has re-signed with Minnesota United for 2025 and club option for 2026. Still can't believe he is 31 years old.
I know this is discussed a lot, but would love to get him back here for one final season for sentimental reasons. I'm sure he'd love to make it happen as well, but it might prove to be impossible.
