I don't particularly like Chelsea. But it's pretty interesting to see the overall landscape of the EPL right now and how wide open the title is this season. Chelsea, Man City, United, Arsenal and Liverpool have all been mehh. If Tottenham don't shit themselves, this could be a chance for them to snatch a title. Curious if Everton can find a way to hang on and pull a Leceister type surprise. Looks like Villa, Leeds, and Crystal Palace are lurking around the top half to begin the campaign.
Bad day in the office. He needs to do better than this. Timo Werner completed fewer passes (13) than any other player on the pitch during his 70 minutes vs. Man Utd and failed to produce a shot on target.Even Edouard Mendy completed more passes (16). pic.twitter.com/MyR6k663zV— Squawka (@Squawka) October 24, 2020
Lampard to discuss penalty-taker options Jorginho missed his second spot-kick of the season in Chelsea's 4-0 win against Krasnodar in the Champions League on Wednesday; Frank Lampard relaxed due to quality of options in reserve, including Timo Werner who scored a penalty in the second half in Russia "I've got no problem at all with his style of taking them, because of the success he's had, and Timo Werner, I know he's very capable to take penalties as we saw. "We have other players that can as well, so I'll talk with the players afterwards to see how we move forward. But we have good penalty takers at the club." https://www.skysports.com/football/...uss-penalty-taker-options-after-jorginho-miss
28 - Since the start of last season, only Robert Lewandowski (37) has scored more goals when excluding penalties in Europe's big-five leagues than Timo Werner (28). Werner wins the call and scores the penalty to give Chelsea the 1-0 lead vs Rennes. Also the 4th penalty he's drawn so far this season 1324082261860458500 is not a valid tweet id

been wondering for years what stops dfb from playing 2 uptop outside of low quantity of CF options. Although all over world countries are able to utilize decent at best CF but us.......lol. still think 98-onwards there are a ton of interesting CFs especially like 02-onwards. So in meantime we won't get this opportunity for some years before it's viable until these young players gain experience and make themselves into candidates. also we could play 2 or 1 uptop based on the team we play against aka flexibility.
Werner has really surprised me, I really didn't think he was this good, got to remember Chelsea have alot of top top players and Werner been one of the best

Lol. I think maybe Mustafi and Werner would be even more lethal. Mustafi is a wasted talent, with his aerial ability he could have been Klose's NT replacement. Seriously though, I would be interested to see how Werner would do alongside Fullkrug for the NT. Could work?
I was concerned how and when Werner will adjust in premier league but really surprised to see he adjusted so quickly and doing well...very happy
Tbh I always thought Werner was well suited to the fast paced transitions/counter attacking of the EPL. His play has similarities with Jamie Vardy.

Werner with an assist as Chelsea won 2-0 vs Newcastle The Blues now 2nd place in the EPL, a couple points behind Tottenham, with other clubs around them still to play this match day
That was a very neat pass. Typical Timo ran from half line with 2 Newcastle players surrounded him but cannot touch him then Timo feint over the last defender before serving it to the plate for Tammy to score
