Clear to see that around the 70th minute Atletico did run out of energy. If only Arda and Costa could have played the full 90. Great effort by Atletico, two minutes away from glory. Sitting back, but not having two outlets may have proved their undoing. Plus Filipe Luis was injured long before he went off.

Played like Chelsea ? For 15-20 mins because they ran out of energy. Don't act like RM attacked the whole game and Atletico only defended. The beginning of the 2nd half Atletico was dominating and attacking creating dangerous goal situations.

Same way as RM beat us in CDR final. Their physical strength prevail over long period. Did you look at Marcelo's goal? lol , Atletico player just couldnt walk anymore.

La Decima doesn't seem to be that big of a deal here in the states. That's the only time I'm every satisfied with the US's lack of soccer coverage :D

"This match doesn't deserve a single tear," said the Argentine.

"When you give everything you cannot ask for more. There is another team and other players out there and that is football.

"It is part of the game. You can win, or you can lose and today it is our turn to lose but at least knowing that we have given it everything.

"He booted the ball towards me and I got annoyed. That is why, he is young. I didn't think it was a good reaction and mine probably wasn't either.

"He is great player and with experience he will learn because he has a big future ahead of him."

Has to be said again though about what a player Di Maria has been this season for RM, Messi better hope that Di Maria still has a lot of energy going into the WC for Argentina.
    And Modric is class too.

I swear I don't have hate for Bale and he was decisive this year but I still can't say he was worth 100 million. The guy scored the 2-1 goal in their most important games this year but I can't put my finger on why I don't think he deserves the 100 million.
And to jump on the Di Maria badwagon he once proved how such a big game player he is. Without him this game is Atletico's.
I know Ronaldo will be considered their best player but Di Maria has been better in the games that matter.

And once again Real get 5 minutes when they needed it. Sure they scored in the 93rd but there is difference between knowing you have 20 second left and 2 minutes

Well, a player who cost that much should have done better , scores in final? Torres used to that as well,. RM also got 5 mins injury time few weeks ago.

Eiber's venture into La Liga is being threatened.
(I've lost count on the number of times the RFEF have pissed me off )

Last two paragraphs from Phil Ball's article in today's Guardian...

"The main problem is the reappearance of the conspiracy theory. Even though the club may finish as champions, the Spanish FA has insisted that Eibar raise €1.7m in capital value (25% of the average expenses of all the teams in Segunda) by 6 August, and that if they don’t, they will be relegated to Segunda B, the third division. Given that Eibar have no debt (practically the only club in the division who can say that) the demand seems unreasonable, to say the least. The club have issued 34,486 shares at €50 each hoping to raise the money. So far they’ve got up to 40%, but since club rules only allow a maximum holding of 2%, even Xabi Alonso (who campaigned recently in Madrid on behalf of the club) can’t write a very big cheque.

Even the league’s president has admitted that they are a ‘model club’, and that the situation is ‘unfair’. But Spain is different, as they say. Unless the money keeps coming in, the most romantic football story of practically the entire history of Spanish sport is about to be nipped in the bud."

I saw you counting down, but I took it to a different level by using shirts of Spain's players. Started off with Pepe Reina's 23.
Looks like you're now copying me. :p

You're my enemy for the next month so I had to call it out. The gloves are off ! :D

But I won't be doing the team thing. Just doing it when there are no other options. Gonna vary where I can with some Brazilian references and probably go with classic players from 11 down to 1. ;)
