Not a perfect performance today but there was a lot to feel good about. Main thing for me - when they equalized nobody's head dropped, we just got back at it. Bodes well for sure.
BIG VIRG with a key goal yet again! Huge win. We haven't played good football (passing in their half drove me insane) but we put up a fight. The game just flew by. I hope Mama is okay.
In retrospect - Jones played well in the attack and progression phases. He still dallied on the ball too much.
Other nice part about the winner - Moyes usually can find an excuse anywhere - but that goal was nice and clean.
This is great from Jones Jones lmaoo 😭 pic.twitter.com/jQ26ftW4bi— Bradley (@BradleyLFC24v3) April 19, 2026
Virg never lets us down! Beautiful header. Welcome, Freddie Woodman! Came right in, cool calm and collected, made a few saves and helped see out the win. What a great win to hang over them.
Curtis Jones: As well as completing the most passes (78) and having the best passing accuracy on the pitch (94%) he also made the most recoveries (16!). The Liverpool player who made the second most was Konate with 5.
6 day's rest before CP 8 day's rest before MU 6 days rest before Chelsea 8 day's rest before Villa 7 day's rest before Brentford .... the players won't know what to do with themselves.
As usual, before the corner, there was a shot of VvD and Konate trundling up into the penalty box. For some reason I was confident Virgil would score. I was totally calm. On the other hand, every time Jones had the ball on the edge of our box and tried to dribble his way through the press I was extremely agitated!
Slot post-game: Is there anything that surprises you when it comes to injuries with us this season? Maybe I already envisaged it because I had two goalkeepers on the bench today, which I usually normally don't have, but of course has everything to do with the availability of all the other positions. Freddie did a great job. Giorgi had to go to hospital, big wound, so let's see how he will be. But Freddie deserves a lot of credit because if you have to come in just after conceding the 1-1 and the fans were ready for it, but he did his job really well. Kept his calm in a difficult moment where he was doubting if he should catch the ball, yes or no, and he kept his nerves and worked so hard to have this moment. Usually third goalkeepers don't play a lot, but in a season like ours, I think if you are playing at the moment in the U8s of Liverpool you should be ready for making your debut because it's unbelievable what's happening to us.
The score was 1-1, as tense as you like And up popped the head of Virgil Van Dijk Oh Everton, we’re all laughing at you The Score is 1-1..😂😂Fucking get in Redmen!🔥 pic.twitter.com/Bnef84Q4XJ— Dicky Sam (@Davolaar) April 19, 2026
Few friends were there yesterday. Superb stadium, but genuinely scary. Roving bands of Blueshite on the concourses, more than a few tried to get into the away end. One of my friends ended up with a split lip and broken glasses. Said it was as bad as anything he seen/being involved in since the 90s.
A season or two back, their fans vandalised the Anfield Road concession area. Their hatred for us is unbelievable. Sad bastards.
and this .... Curtis Jones won possession 9 times in the defensive third vs Everton, no player has done so more often in a single Premier League match this season.
