I was ready to accept the draw content with the fact that we played really well. We faced adversity in the most hostile of places, and responded to it better than we have all season. When Everton equalized you expected heads to drop and disaster to hit. Instead Liverpool took the game back over and were deserved winners.
This is why football is so special. Even in the worst seasons you can have a win that will never be forgotten. Liverpool’s first trip to the Hill Dick will be remembered forever. And Freddie Woodman will be the answer to a great trivia question.
To be fair - I don't think we played well - but we did settle and played enough to figure it out. We weren't giving up clear chances - but I will say this, they really had no trouble with either the long ball or slipping a pass down the channel and us having not anticipated or followed it. They flashed a couple of shots past Woodman, that fortunately were curling away from the goal.
