First ever visit to the Hill Dick. Mama Frimpong Konate Virgil Robertson Szoboszlai Gravenberch Wirtz Salah Isak Ngumoha From here on out I want to see us stick to a system with Wirtz in his preferred position with two athletic center mids behind him and three forwards in front of him. Only question was whether to use Isak from the start or the bench. I think it’s time that he shows us something.
I don't think we need to see Isak show us something... I think we need to see Slot show us something..
Oh come on - you're calling out a guy who has yet to play for us when fully fit, and is a couple of games back from a serious injury? jesus man.
I'd actually go with Gakpo for this one, with Rio to come in. Let's not have the kid exposed to the usual Everton semi-retarded thuggery attempts that the first half usually generates
When did I call anyone out? Just said I would like to see something from our 130 million pound signing.
Why do I need to compliment him Sam? I think we would all feel better going into next season if we saw some production from Isak before this one ends. We just lost our most exciting player to a devastating injury. It’s not like Isak was lighting it up before his injury. If it’s not fair to expect anything from him, why did the manger start him in a Champions League Quarter Final when he had 3 other options he could have chose? Speaking of the manager…I would like to see the manager show that he knows how to use Isak. Last season our entire attack was through the wings. The centerforward was just someone who did a lot of running to facilitate Salah. Now that we invested 130 million in a player that is not going to do the work of others how will the manager get the best out of him? So far we have not seen the answer to that. We have seen a player that is hardly involved in games and gets minimal touches. This goes back to before the injury. It was a throw away comment, but since Sam attacked me on it, I have now elaborated on it.
He hasn't been match fit since he arrived. He's playing in a team that is anything working well, at all. He's now trying to get fully fit and healthy after months of rehab and looks slow and laboured. From what you've said above it seems you're unhappy with how Slot is using him. If that's the case why not say that, instead of "time for Isak to show us something" which insinuates he's not been pulling his weight.
Why the obsession with picking apart the wording of my posts? What I said wasn’t even remotely controversial yet somehow I got attacked by you for it. I’ll leave it at that since this thread is supposed to be about the Derby.
Who cares Sam? He’s done very little. He played several games before injury in which he was very disappointing. The manager picked him in the biggest game of the season. Still nothing. Did not say I gave up on him. I said exactly what I said. I want to see something from him. I said above that I want him to be in the starting lineup. Would you be happy if he doesn’t improve from what we’ve seen so far? We need something positive going into next season. What better than our 130 million pound signing showing that he’s worth what we paid? Feel free to disagree with anything I say. But the “jesus man” as if I offended you is ridiculous. It’s an internet message board about football. Chill the ******** out.
When Isak came in after the "saga" - he was so unfit it was scary. He looked like a cross between Milan Jovanovich and Joe Cole - slow, immobile, and unable to run. A lot of that is on him - I have no idea what he was doing all summer - it certainly wasn't fitness. But once here - Slot didn't get him into any kind of shape - and that's because it now seems like Slot's teams aren't the fitness kings we were used to. A bad combo. The sad part - Isak just about looked ready to start contributing in the last game he played where he got injured - movement + a great finish.
Should the Club hire ouside help for these muscle issues. It is decimating the team, there has to be a specialist that can be consulted, lol.
True but our starting point is arguably a lot worse than most .... Virgil, Dom, Mac, Grav, Ibou, Kerk, Cody, Robbo - played into the ground. Ali and Isak barely match fit/healthy.
