It won't be pretty (never is when London's concerned), but I think this is one Everton should be able to manage.

2-1 to the Boys in Blue -- Arteta with a free kick and McFadden will scramble one in somehow. One of the Bents will score for Charlton (the one Everton used to employ ... or the good one).

Getting three points is insanely crucial here. The last place you want to be going in a bad frame of mind is Old Trafford....

I'm watching the game via a Chinese webcast.

No Cahill + no AJ = pretty forgetful stuff by the Blues thus far.

    Everton scores!!!!

Arteta free kick from 25 yds out, headed by Toffee, deflected off of Charlton player

It's good to see us pushing for the 2nd goal.

Too often in the past, the Toffees have tried bunkering after taking a 1-0 lead vs a team like Charlton.

Beattie subbed out after a decidedly blah effort today

    Should you even bother?

One of our poorer efforts this year by far.

Charlton were poor, but we were dreadful.

The Toffees were lucky to earn 1 pt

Yeah, well, I've missed a few games because of work and general craziness so I really want to make the effort to see this one, since I have the time.

It'll give me something to bitch about, if nothing else.

Nobody showed up at The Globe to watch the game!

I say we're lucky we didn't allow a second goal in the waning moments. I really don't see how we're going to score any goals without Cahill and AJ. Arteta seems to be our only viable option. Davies played poorly again today disregarding his last-second shot. I thought Faddy showed some signs of life in the first half, though...

My Globe Saturday afternoons will be virtually non-existent from this point forward - I just got my new schedule and I'll be working all frickin day. Figures.

    Could well be.

The whole Everton defense was caught off-guard.

Valente was dribbling out rather casually toward the top left corner of the Everton box when a Charlton player tackled the ball away from him.

And after a couple quick passes, the ball was in the back of the net.

A pretty big defensive lapse on Valente's part, IMHO. Though not nearly as dramatic as Yobo's casual giveaway earlier this year.
