BMB has two goals in about a 10 minute span in the second half. We may see him get an offer from Everton after all. One was supposedly an overhead kick of some sort. Great Work McBride!

    BMB bagging two on Sunderland.

Is this Toon's birthday or something?

    From Sky:

MAN OF THE MATCH: Brian McBride (Everton) - Scored twice and also impressed with his aerial prowess and ability to link up play.

    And finally.......

anybody looking for new wallpaper this week?

    Is this killer or what:

Unfortunately I have a huge submittal due at work, so I spent my Saturday there. Listening to the Everton match, however, sure made those two hours fly by. That was entertaining, hearing the Everton audio getting all fired up about McBride. Judging by posts on various Everton boards, their fans have taken to McBride.

Who would have guessed that McBride would come tearing out of the gates the way he's done for Everton? If he keeps playing even close to this level, there isn't a doubt in my mind that Moyes is going to be going to whatever length he must to acquire him.

The match report said that when he was subbed off, he got a standing ovation. Yeah, I think the fans like him. McBride is on a fvckin mission. He knows that this is probably his last real chance to get on an English team on a full time basis. He's leaving it all on the field these days. Good for him.

There's a poll on the official club site on whether Everton should make a bid for McBride to stay longer than 3 months.

It's been going down from 91% earlier.. The Crew fans found it and are being bad.

Didn't Joe-Max Moore have this type of start at Everton? Right on his way to finding the bench after a semi-slump hit him. Let's hope BMB keeps up the pace.

McBride has something that Mathis is sorely lacking and which makes the difference. WORK ETHIC!

    Same old, same old

Bake does this everywhere he goes. He scored like crazy in 96 because nobody gave him any respect. He did the same thing to Portugal in World Cup 2002. Now he is doing the same thing in England. I just wish he would do the same thing for the Crew instead of just acting as a defender magnet and drawing the defense away from Stern, Jeff, (insert forward name here). I guess we will never see it though because three goals and an assist in two games in that league is too much to pass up.

    Re: Same old, same old

"because three goals and zero assists"

McBride had no part in Radzinski's goal last week. The final assist went to Naysmith.

He didn't have a direct part....

I just watched it a min ago to check. Brian was NOT the one laying off the ball for Radz.

There is a good interview with him after the match that sky did. He seems happy at Everton.

Which of course raises the salient issue, ie. Will Moyes try to make a play for him on a permanent basis?

The transfer window closes in two weeks. After that, the next time he'll be available is the middle of the MLS season, which the league just doesn't do.

I'm not expressing an opinion one way or the other here, I'm just suggesting that IF they want him they have to move now.

Not that this really matters, but I just thought I'd tell everyone I live on Everton Place here in Columbus. Kind of funny.

Someone posted a link to clips of the goals over in the YA forum, though I am too lazy to get here and post them for ya. Both goals were truly world class. There really is no doubt about that. He's playing out of his mind over there now.
