I have a feeling that United's ability to avoid disaster (against Spurs and Sunderland) won't work this time around. They are just not gelling at the moment and Everton will take advantage of that. 2-0 to the Toffies, with Yak and Arteta (fk) scoring.
Hi I'm coming to New York this weekend for the first time. I'm staying on Rivington St in the Lower East Side. Could anyone recommend a good place to watch the Everton v United game. It's going to be 7am in NYC so not surer whether places will open that early for the game? I've found a place on Bleecker St called the Red Lion. Not sure what that's like? Any help greatly appreciated. Cheers
Seems that Graveson may be injured for this match as well. As much as I was disappointed with his loan, his partnership with Jags was much more impressive than Nev and Cars. Hopefully he'll get things situated and play in the match. Doesn't seem like the knock Yak picked up in Nigeria is anything to worry about though, so (fingers crossed) another frontline with him and AJ. We know how DM likes to play 5 mids against strong opponents...
Sorry, don't know anything about the Red Lion, but you could always go to Nevada Smith's. They're a huge footy bar, though I think they mostly cater to Man Utd, Arsenal and Redshite supporters. Here's their Premier League schedule for Saturday morning and here's the link to the Directions page: http://www.grahamecurtis.com/nevadasmiths/map.html Sep 15, 2007 Saturday 7 AM E P L Everton v Manchester United LIVE 7.45 AM E P L Portsmouth v Liverpool LIVE 8.30 AM E P L Tottenham Hotspur v Arsenal LIVE 12.15 PM E P L Chelsea v Blackburn Rovers LIVE
Just to assist further, Nevada Smith's is in the same end of the City as Rivington Street, but is probably still a 30 minute walk or 10 minute ($5) cab ride uptown. I'd take a cab if I were you.
chifirefan - You still gonna be at The Globe? I did not realize we were the EARLY early game. That means I will have to leave my house by 5:30am!
Yep, I'll be there...bright and early and drinking tons of coffee! www.myspace.com/efcscna - click and add me them as your friend
Cool. I'll see you there then, so long as the Irving Park bus is running. p.s. I'm not on myspace anymore.
Watching an Everton game is the only reason I'd wake up at 6:30 in the morning on a Saturday, also another reason why I don't like living in the States.
The Toffees played pretty well, but Man Utd deserved the win. At least this wasn't as painful as last year's 4-2 loss to them.
Didn't think we played poor at all. Vidic's goal was excellent. Still hate Neville in the midfield, he can't pass for anything. Hibbert was great defensively until the goal.
The whole (except maybe Arteta) are blameless here we just took on a team that has more quality...oh well.
