Everton's leading both Liverpool and Fulham by 2 pts in the table - we could use 3 out of this to help assure 7th - Red Shite and/or Fulham could move ahead of the Blues and WE DON'T WANT THAT! I don't see US TV coverage available (ESPN or Fox Soccer), so I'll be hunting some links tomorrow morning (8am MDT, 10am EDT). Thoughts?
Fox Soccer Channel is showing a replay of the match at 5pm Eastern time. I've been using the following website to view matches on my Mac: http://www.footballstreaming.info/streams/todays-links/ Unfortunately most of the "browser" channels at this website have ads that periodically pop up during the webcast. Anyone know of a good, Mac-friendly website that airs matches? (unfortunately programs like Sopcast aren't designed for Mac use)
Everton have done awfully well vs. Fulham at home, having won their last 8 matches at Goodison vs. the Cottagers. No doubt our great record vs. Fulham at home is mainly due to Fulham's traditionally poor form away from Craven Cottage. However, Fulham's play on the road seems to have been improving lately. In their last 4 road matches, Fulham won at QPR and Bolton, and had 1-0 losses at Man Utd and Aston Villa. I expect a tough match for the Toffees, and, unfortunately, wouldn't be surprised to see them lose this one.
No help on the Mac side, sorry. I'll probably use the link you listed (have used it before) to see the game live - then I can get on with the day - besides, later in the day, we'll be headed to tailgate a bit as the Rapids host Chivas Saturday evening.
Everton up 1-0 early, PK taken by Jelavic. Fulham complained about the call, but it was an easy & obvious call.
and 3-0....Jelavic, nice meg of the keeper and some overall poor defending from Fulham today, just about half now.
Very, very impressive play from Everton. Fulham created one dangerous scoring chance (thank you Tim Howard for that brilliant save!), but have otherwise been very quiet. It's great to see Jelavic playing so great for us, but I'm not sure if we want him to do TOO well. Like others have mentioned, the "big" clubs might come poaching for Jelavic if he stands out too much in the league.
What a beautiful goal that was -- the delicate, chip pass by Pienaar and Cahill's cool, Jelavic-style finish.
It's so nice when they play like this - and so very helpful for Fulham to have a terrible defensive day. And now we want the Red Shite to lose....
And I hope he plays well this summer, at the same time wishing that no club managers who have big transfer budgets take a liking to him....is that too much to ask?
while I see Everton doing the normal selling to possibly buy someone, I don't see him leaving so soon but that just might be me.
i hope you're right... though I think we're in such a position that if the right price is offered we're going to have to let him go.
