Hi Everyone, just wanted to update you on Everton USA, formerly EFCSCNA. I'm not sure if any of you have checked out the new site, but it's up and running. The club has come through on nearly all the promised "membership benefit" items and has given a rough timeline for receiving the rest of the benefits. The kinks with joining online have been worked out and 09 membership is being accepted (and processed after we receive the final benefits from club). Moyes has written the welcome letter, Timmy Howard is filming an exclusive video for members and there will be Raffles for merchandise that you are automatically entered into if you are a member. There is also a vote on what day/game you want EvertonUSA day to be at Goodison. If you are having a get together in your town with fellow blues, email the site and it will be advertised on there. Maybe we can help get more blues into your local to enjoy the game together! I know our season hasn't been so inspiring so far, but after their show yesterday at Man U, it's proof positive that we CAN make a damn good showing for the rest of the year. So here's to the blues and hope everyone keeps supporting regardless of anything else. COYB!
Thanks for the write-up, spider. Everton USA is indeed off the ground and things are going well so far. The club has come through with the things they've promised and 2009 membership packets are nearly ready to go out. In addition to the regular membership benefits, I'm also preparing for the first membership raffle - the winner will be drawn from the membership pool and the prize will be awarded at the end of February. I have one item in hand that could go to the winner, I'm just awaiting on final ok from Everton. If it's not the item I currently have (I'll announce it shortly), it will be something else equally awesome. Please do check out the website and let me know what you think can be done to improve. Any and all feedback is welcome, you can contact me on BS or email me at sara@evertonusa.org. I'm really excited about where this supporters club is going!
Just wanted to let you guys know that the first raffle has been announced. Join before Feb. 28th and you'll be entered to win a training shirt signed by the team. http://www.evertonusa.org/2008/11/win-signed-shirt.html
Good work gang! Oh by the way, Everton Away shirts on the store are only £14.99! I knew there was a catch to my brother getting me a present!
I got my membership packet, with Moyes' letter and my really pretty laminated card (hey, my health insurance one is just crappy paper... like that won't get ripped in my bag?) I'm so official, it's cool. Now if the club would get Timmy's video all set and I'll be totally cool... little things really do make me happy
There will be other raffles throughout the year, so if you don't win this time, you've still got a shot. Everton have promised me merchandise throughout the year; hopefully I can pick some of it up when I go to Middlesbrough v. Everton on Boxing Day.
I'll happily put together a "Screw the Reds" bumpersticker. Of course, all the baseball fans in my area would wonder why I hate Cincinnati.
I'd feel bad if I won cos I help Sara as much as I can -- which is probably not much -- but it'd be almost like... "was it fixed?" but then if I received the jersey I'd be all like "screw that this is cool!" We wouldn't want the Gobshites to be confused either... gotta spell it out nice and simple for them Oh if my dad ever found this post...
I don't have a problem if I don't win it, I just don't want Monty to win it instead of me. He's already got my Everton signed soccer ball because my daughter kept trying to take it outside to practice with. You have as much right to win as anyone else.
If I win, I'll know it's rigged! (For the newbies, I ran EFCSCNA for years and finally gave it up to a more than capable Sara earlier this year!) Great job, Sara. Please keep up the great work!!
I'm going to have someone else with me when I do the draw, as a witness. Maybe I'll do it at The Globe so there will be lots of people around.
