Has anyone heard news that Everton will tour the US in the summer in early August?

I'm guessing the Intertoto Cup is out of reach by now?

It doesn't sound definite, but it would be cool.

I have been saving up for a vacation sometime in July, but I wouldn't mind waiting an extra couple of weeks if Everton come by Texas.

Everton were in Texas two summers ago. They participated in the Copa de Tejas at the Houston Texans stadium. I would think that since the Texans are bringing in Barcelona for a game this summer, that Everton would not be going back there.

Moyes and the team loves training in the US (Houston two summers ago, Florida in January). I hope they come back, but with the glut of European teams coming here this summer, I would imagine they'd opt for somewhere less "populated" with other teams.

By the way, these "Everton to do US preseason tour" rumors were started last year about this time. I won't hold my breath!

    Just my .02.

** If they do come to the US, Columbus would be great! Road trip!!!!

EDIT: Having just read the original post in the Columbus thread (link above), I know the poster and he is an extremely reliable source of Everton info. I'll dig further, but don't hold your breath.

I was at the Pachuca and Club America game. They just looked so much more tired against CA. Everton was so much stronger than Pachuca..... Bent was way too fast for them...

Please come to Houston or Dallas, I'll be your best friend......:D

Interesting that they show the FCD logo when the Toffees aren't even playing against them.

<rant on> Typical. Half-assed research. Have they contacted the only official Everton Supporters Club in the US? Why, of course not....that would be waaayyy too easy. I mean, it's not like we have a website where they could find out our details. It's not like we're NOT registered with the club. Why does the club distance itself from the fans so much...it makes me want to SCREAM!!!!! <rant off>

    Cool, road-trip to Columbus!!!
