For those of us that admit we live in the USA [smirk], the Everton game is on TV on Sunday, live at 11am ET on PPV. "on sky" (snicker)
diving kevin campbell gives everton the 2-1 win. the odd thing is that all the media seem to be pointing out gravesons mauling of bernard seconds before, as the source of the controversy. not campbell's obvious flop-in-the-box. anyhoo, crap result.
Newcastle certainly didn't play well enough to win, but neither did Everton. This match really had draw written all over it. Like ONE suggests, the whole penalty argument should be moot. Gravesen's clear foul on Bernard in the build-up should should have stopped the play dead (and awarded the Dane a card of some sort), instead an undeserved lead and eventually the match is handed to Everton. On a day which could have seen Newcastle go within 3 points of first place, we trotted out with a relatively uninspired and uncreative performance. No offense to the young Scot, but it's a telling factor when Kerr has more of an effect on the game than Dyer, Bellamy and even Big Al. Surprising then that Robert was as fiery and competitive as he was today -- perhaps the days of lackadaiscal appearances are behind our left-footed Frenchman. On the positive side, perhaps Newcastle will now not be truly bothered about the race for the title, instead focusing on solidifying a 3rd place finish. Of course, facing ManU at home next week with the chance to draw level with the Devils would certainly have been a relishing idea.
