Just a bit. Lost a lot of respect for him for it though. Hope Valencia turns out to be the worst decision of his life. I'm not bitter though.
I think'd be terrific if Gravesen comes back on loan. We might even have a chance of breaking into the Top 4 with him stirring things up in the middle.
I really don't think we'll ever see the Grav that did so well for us for the last 6 months of his Everton career. Here's hoping that he will.
Gravesen is offically back on a one year loan from Celtic. Great news or me, I really like the way he plays. Hopefully he still has it in him. SQUAD COMPLETE!
I like Gravesen. No one can fault him for leaving for Real Madrid, and I hope he picks up where he left off for us. And yeah, I'd heard the rumours that he was coming back but didn't believe it for a second. I was shocked when I saw it on the official site. Welcome back, Tommy.
I'd been at work all today and to come back to seeing that on the Reuters site was a bit of a 'wtf' moment!
Ditto. My head is still kinda spinning. I see him holding the shirt and smiling, but I'm still not sure I believe it 100%.
My time following Everton started in the spring of '05. So I am not familiar with Mr. Graveson. Can someone do a brief summary of his abilities? I understand he's a defensive central midfielder, sort of the role that Carsley has been playing.
He's a far cry for Manny. And he's been horrible in his stint with Celtic. Here's hoping he rekindles his 2004 form.
lots of energy, good workrate, lots of shouting and mean/awkward stare downs. he's not too skillful on the ball in my opinion, but he makes up for it with his energy and hustle. when i've seen him play pre-celtic, he's always played with his heart on his sleeve and never gave up. not the at real, his lack of technical ability showed. but he still was able to contribute with his intensity, workrate and endless running. problem was that his endless running was just that. his last full season at everton was interesting if i remember. i believe he spent a lot of time as an attacking midfielder and everton had a lot of success. but i wouldn't say he's a defensive midfielder in the makelele fold.
I'm pleased to see him return and on loan too. Adds much needed depth in the middle of the park. Don't see him being a regular starter but he'll get some spot starts based on injuries, cup competitions, etc.... Welcome back Tommy.
Just a question here, with Yakubu joining Everton now, http://www.epllatestnews.blogspot.com. Which area should Everton Strengthen more? Just interested to find out. Great Start, this season for Everton so far.
He's a better version of Carsley. Or was anyways. Hopefully he can do well for Everton again. He didn't get much of a look at Madrid and not much at Celtic this year.
