Wow, the Everton boards are just dead.

Anyway, another huge 3 points on Saturday. Everton's going to be without Gardner and no Pienaar.

Haven't scored in 319 minutes of play. Ouch.

With Nigeria out, Yak will be back, so hopefully that helps.

The teams around us: Villa hosts Newcastle, Liverpool is at Chelsea (Sunday) apparently without Torres, City's at ManUre, and Blackburn's at the Arse. Good chance with at least three of those games to pick up some space.

    COYB!

I'm going to say 2-0 with Yak and Manny scoring. This is a must win for us. I'm also predicting 2-1 to Chelsea and 1-0 Newcastle.

Well, at least I'm back after a bit of a hiatus.

I was busy looking after my Mom the last few weeks after she suffered an accident.

But she's doing better now, so I have more time to "waste" here at BS. :)

BTW: it doesn't look like I missed out on much by missing out on the last 2 Toffee games -- hopefully we can break this 3 game goal less streak!

Few of the players flew to Lagos after getting knocked of the African Nations. Joey returned immediately. Yak now had to feel the wrath of Moyes. Can Cahill play? Is he not on international duty?

Cahill is back, though how much he'll be able to do after such a long haul remains to be seen. If he can't start, going 4-4-2 might be best.

As for the Yak, he picked one hell of a time to go Hollywood. Even if he does turn up, the odds of his playing are pretty slim.

 my starting to be ok with Yak has taken a big nose dive. that's unacceptable behaviour and I didn't like him off the bat (i didn't dislike him, but reserved judgement) because I felt there was something... i dunno... This pisses me off to hear he did this. I mean i can understand being tired and what not, but shit, get permission first you ********.

This is a must win for us. A home game against a struggling team near the bottom of the table is a must. Another tie is not going to cut it. We have to have all 3 points.

And we need to get out of this scoring slump. It's just a lot more fun to watch when we put a few in the net. And I actually get to watch this one on FSC.

Unfortunately, this type of behavior seems to be all too common with strikers.

FC Dallas got rid its star forward, Carlos Ruiz, this past off-season because of this sort of behavior (he frequently overstayed trips to his homeland after playing in international matches).

And we ended up trading our leading scorer Ariel Graziani in 2000 after the coach got tired of his antics (which included heading directly to the lockerroom after he was subbed out one game instead taking a seat on the bench).

I thought Pienaar was going to be out for a couple of weeks.

I believe KATref is right. 2-3 weeks. So put in Osman for Peanut. Or is he hurt too?

i hated both those players... putting yak in with them is giving him a good chance of me hating him too... ********ing damn dirty ruiz what an asshole he is/was. :(

i don't care if players are better than my team's players, it's the attitudes they have that piss me off. there's no reason to be an ass about anything like that. you know?

My take on this is a bit difference than yours.

I certainly don't care for the antics of players like Ruiz, Graziani, or Yakubu.

But if they play well on the field, I'm all for them staying with the team.

The players I have no use for are the ones who get into serious trouble off the field ((Duncan Ferguson, though, has a soft spot in my heart :) ))

And the surly, unpleasant players who treat fans, media, and their teammates like sh!t.

Duncan Ferguson done a hell of a lot for charity which went un-noticed ni the media. He also got criticised for defending his household and family when two burgulars entered his house in the middle of the night. Being Dunc he kicked seven shades of shite out of them.

As much as I don't like Yakubu's actions I feel we are in need of his quality in such a mini crisis. No goal in three games.

Just read up on the Yak situation on Everton's site.

As for Pienaar, yup both him and Big Vic are out. Baines is a doubt as well.

My are we riddled with injuries...

They damn near scored from a free kick in the opening minute. Good save by Howard.
