That it was the headline for the article is significant for Marca

    Sweet!!!

The threat of a move to MLS has become a bargaining chip in Spain now, too!!!

    MLS' Global Footprint on display.

If I recall correctly, Fran played for Spain a few years ago. Fantastic talent, though like most of our Euromercenaries, a little long in the tooth. I'd guess he's about 33. I'd love to see him orchestrating the Revs' attack. Plays more on the wing for Depor, but could play centrally, our main weakness. He would be a destroyer in this league, bring some much needed creativity.

Not that he would, but it would certainly be a huge boon for whatever team he was on. Including Colorado.

Hey Mario, te has dado cuenta, eh! Bueno, he estado trabajando como esclavo para pagar la hipoteca de la casa que la mujer y yo acabamos de comprar. De hecho, seguir el mundo futbolistico esta muy por debajo en la lista de quehaceres. Voy a intentar a participar algo mas frequente. De todas maneras, gracias por notar mi ausencia, mi amigo. :)

    Absolutely.

I doubt he'd come with Lotharitis.

he's more talented at this age than lothar was... plus i don't think that it is possible that he has a bigger ego.

    You really think so?
Lothar was dominating Madrid in the Champions League right before he came to MLS.
But don't think that I'm belittling Fran-- he's always been glue on a Depor team that can suffer from overreliance on key players (like, say, Valeron). Despite their best player being gone for large portions of the season, they're in first place.

well i failed to put into account that lothar was in his late thirties when he came to mls... while fran is in his mid-thirties. so i guess that does make a difference. so it is debatable.

i just have this glaring memory of his mls days and his embarrassing (and whining) performance in euro2000 for the german nats on his way out. and after seeing fran's great play as of late, i suppose my opinion is skewed.

It would be nice, but he most likely would not come to MLS.
