I'm making my first trip to Columbus later this month, May 29-31. Are there any special events going on in the city? We don't have much planned for the trip other than the Crew/Metro game. Bad news for Crew fans is the only other MLS game I've attended Clint Mathis went for 5 goals vs the Burn. Just concidence that the Crew are playing the Metrostars again, I will be firmly supporting the Crew. We are staying on the northish side of Columbus, are there any nice neighborhoods/residential areas in that area. I want to do some scouting for posible relocation in a year or so. I'm getting tired of Houston not having an MLS team, and the US/Mexico game just increased my hunger. Thanks
Memorial Golf Tournament is the weekend of May 29th to June 1st, FYI, held in Dublin (NW side of Columbus). North side of Columbus for the most part is pretty good, especially north of the I-270 Outerbelt.
Rental cars will be hard to find that weekend because many are being loaned to Memorial Tournament folk.
Thankfully I've got mine already. Is The Ohio State University on summer break right now? I'll probably check out the campus regardless, but it would be more fun if some students were around, as long as they aren't celebrating a football national championship.
You also don't get nearly 2 months off for Christmas break... The Memorial is fun, if you like golf. As such, I probably won't go until Happy starts playing...
I'm not that into golf so I'll have to pass on the Memorial. Anything else worth checking out (other than what was mentioned on the other "what to do in Columbus" thread)?
Should Wolves win the Division I playoff, there's always the chance of viewing one Eggy still celebrating.
I read something about concerts at Creekside Park in Gahanna on Friday nights. Is this cool at all, or is it lame, or somewhere inbetween. Thanks
