https://www.mlssoccer.com/news/what...ence-team-needs-in-the-summer-transfer-window Love this stuff from Doyle. Could RSL trade for someone like Campana or Magno? Should they? Looking forward to the other half of the story tomorrow.
14 year old Cavan Sullivan gets in the match for Philly Union. Good for him! It’s a violation of PA child labor laws but I have a feeling it’s nothing burger.

We don't have a ton of money so we focused on players we can't afford hoping we could low ball them have them join us anyway. Interesting approach. You would think that free tickets to Pike Place Market would have done the trick?
Seattle attendance and general atmosphere is way down this year. I caught the leagues cup game last night and thought I was watching a Usl game based on the crowd.
A bunch of people are boycotting Leagues Cup. I don’t think it’s a fair assessment based on these games. But yes, there is a noticeable lack of enthusiasm in general in Seattle.
I can't see Waibel lasting very long in Seattle. That team looks like it needs an overhaul from top to bottom. They have been playing better but the overall "feel" is just not the same as in the past for them. The do have a very good HC but there is just something off at the moment.
Most of the big pieces have expiring contracts, which is one reason why they are waiting - the big rebuild is this winter, and they aren't sure which players will accept lower contracts to stay.
How long ago did they win the CCL? Oh yeah, May 4, 2022. They have had a very rough ride since then. Lagerway left at the end of 2022 to go to Atlanta (and NOT Chicago ). They were built to win it all 2021 and 2022, sitting on big contracts of older and injured players (because of that CCL run). 2025 will be Waibel’s real test. However, they haven’t really brought in good filler pieces during his time there.
Their other challenge is several youth players from their own system, who each might be worth the U22 imitative slot. So they can't bring in a young player - Obed Vargas and Reed Baker-Whiting are two, already there, who they need to pay to retain.
I would have no faith in Waibel as a Sounders fan from watching him with RSL. Lots of factors that played against his favor here, weird owner, cheap owner, etc. Could be wrong about his abilities for sure. I mean there is probably a lot of good players to sign coming out of UW. Amitrite? Could certainly prove everyone wrong but time will tell what happens with the Sounders.
I'd love to see what happens if he pulls the "there really isn't MLS-level talent in the academy" in Seattle. I can't find that quote with a quick google search. Does anyone have a link to it where that statement was made? If Waibel can't make it happen in Seattle, then he can go back to 3rd tier clubs in Europe.
I still trust Garth's opinion. He thought he was good enough. Our opinion of him is just tainted due to the owner at the time.
I agree that it’s too early to draw any conclusions, kinda like how people here were getting so upset with Pablo early on. To set the record, I too have been skeptical of Pablo, but it is clear that he’s a pretty great coach when surrounded by the right people who can do the things he isn’t great at, as well as provide good criticism & feedback.
I am 100% in that boat with Pablo. I was very critical that he could not get past the rah rah motivation stuff and to the technical, tactical, side when the rah rah, xdawg, schtick wore off. Been proved totally wrong this season with the changes and keeping Pablo and I couldn't enjoy watching RSL play their "style" of play this season. Been fantastic.
