Same scoreline in the return leg, Etuhu & a double from Andy Johnson.

Fulham have been drawn against Amkar of Russia in the next round.

This Thursday, at home to Amkar.

Did a little research. Lower-mid table in Russia, or acctually, 13th out of 16. I dont want to get too cocky, but we have a really good chance of making it to the groups.

Speaking of the devil!! They are playing as I type. The score is 2-2 as they host Zenit @ halftime.

Seems to be a team that overachieved last year in the RPL. We should be able to knock them down to size. I'm happy to have the home leg first.

I'm confident, but the match congestion is starting early this season, isn't it? Jeesh...

Well played today a nice 3-1 home win! Trust Villa to let us down and not make it a nice English clean sweep.

Kushev scores a very late goal to win the game 1-0 for Amkar.

However Fulham progress to the group stages, 3-2 overall.

Well, the team Roy played was missing Danny Murphy, Clint Dempsey, Bobby Z, AJ and Konch.

I feel EJ should have gotten a run out there, but meh, Roy knows best.

    Group stages, here we come!!

It's a tough group, but to be honest, they're all tough groups. One of the great things about Europa leagues is that there are more teams at that 2nd tier level, so the likelihood of close groups is higher.

So the next question... what are the odds that any of these games are going to televised in the States?

What is the TV coverage like for the UEFA Cup/Europa League in the States? I've always been meant to find that out. Do you just get the cup final and a couple of other games?

Here in the UK the majority to all of Fulham's games will likely be screened live on TV (Channel 5 or ITV4), so therefore if you don't get many or any live games on TV in the US then there should be some streams knocking about online.

    Slim to none.

Now that Fox Soccer has the Champions League, I believe they've given up the Europa League. For example, yesterday, instead of any Europa coverage, they were showing tape delayed matches of the Champions League that they didn't show on Wednesday.

I just did a quick search on Setanta and GolTV and it doesn't look like either of them is covering it either.

All this makes me wonder who, if anyone, owns the US broadcast rights for the league.

It sucks, but we really can't complain.

Relative to just a few years ago, soccer coverage has become an embarrassment of riches.

    I totally agree.
Hopefully it will get back to the prestige Uefa Cup had before the birth of the ECL.

This Europa League is already effing our Premier League season, I'm not convinced.

Fulham looking a real force in the Europa League in my opinion.

I certainly think they can go far.

Fulham beat Basle 1-0 @ Craven Cottage, which puts them top of their group on 4 points. Roma & Basle have 3 points, CSKA Sofia a point.

Fulham now play a double header against Roma, starting at the Cottage.

Yea, were leading the group and if we can draw twice with Roma, and if other results go our way, things will look good. Its top 2 that qualify from the group right?

    Yes, the top two qualify.

Think this is how the teams line-up

    Fulham (right to left)

    Schwarzer

    Kelly - Hangeland - Hughes - Konchesky

    B Riise - Greening - Baird - Gera

    Zamora - Kamara

Subs: Stockdale, Pantsil, Nevland, Duff, Dempsey, Smalling, Anderson.

    Roma: (right to left)

    Doni

    Burdisso - Mexes - Andreolli - J Riise

Taddei - Brighi - De Rossi - Guberti

    Menez - Okaka

Subs: Lobont, Pizarro, Vucinic, Julio Baptista, Perrotta, Greco, Cassetti.

Fulham lead 1-0 at half-time due to a Hangeland header.
