For the good of United, I think Chelsea winning will be better for us. Citeh ownership might get rid of Pep since CL is their ultimate goal. The quicker they win the something the quicker Chelsea revolt against the manager.
Credit to Tuchel though: this is a Chelsea team that looked pretty poor under Lampard at the start of the season. And the turnaround has been pretty spectacular, with them looking to win it all in Europe. Regardless of what happens in the final, they should be a very scary team next season, making things even more difficult for us, unless we strengthen in the summer.
This weekend's game between City and Chelsea will be that much more interesting though. The teams will be changed for sure but still...
After a few billions (excluding the free transfers to Bayern) and 10 years, Guardiola has managed to have a team in UCL final. What an achievement! EDIT: 1.309 billion dollar per Transfermarkt
Sergio Aguero would be prepared to reduce his salary while playing at Barcelona... and of course with Leo Messi. There’s still no agreement completed or signed - the club will decide about Aguero, Depay and other targets only at the end of the season. 🔵🔴 #FCB @MatteMoretto https://t.co/UEV4XJmkoH— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) May 6, 2021 Barca do need a 9 pretty bad and going back to Spain could genuinely extend Aguero's career. He'll surely bag in La Liga.
Best move for both parties. I am not "in the know" but I just know Barca were never in the running for Haaland. If they had money, they'd probably have signed Lautauro by now. Barca get a proven goal scorer with no transfer fee. Aguero gets to stay at the highest level.
Barca's money issues are well known: they're going to have to be very wise with their spending this summer. Just like Real, they clearly were hoping for the ESL to bail them out: tough luck... Aguero is perfect for them: he'll flourish as it is in Spain but with Messi, Griezmann, Dembele, Fati and co as his supply line, it won't be a surprise to see him in the running for the Pichichi.
Real are in a far better position than Barca Swiss Ramble did his usual debt dive into their finances. Obviously Covid got in the way of their YOY growth, but the idea they need bailing out is nowhere near true. #RealMadrid 2019/20 accounts cover a season when they won La Liga, were quarter-finalists in the Copa del Rey, won the Supercopa de Espana and exited the Champions League in the last 16. Finances impacted by COVID-19 in the last 3 months. Some thoughts in the following thread.— Swiss Ramble (@SwissRamble) January 4, 2021
Arsenal frankly looking mediocre so far this half. They don't scare me one bit under normal circumstances but I still do not want to see them in the final, considering our record vs them this season. Still have this nagging feeling they'll score the one goal they need and eek thru though... 0-0, 20mins and change left here. Arsenal finally picking up the pace with under 15mins left: Bellerin crosses for Auba, who hits the post. Arteta, needing a goal, takes Auba off to bring Willian on. Did bring Lacazette though, but Auba is not hurt: what, why?!!?!?
5mins of added time, still 0-0. Arsenal have had only one attempt on target for the record... Arsenal are out and it will be United vs Villareal in the final!
FT 0-0 The Yellow Sub it is Just 2 shots on target from Arsenal, one in each half. Not much urgency. No Europe next year either.
A bit apprehensive about this guy and his record in the Europa League but while Villareal are a decent team, they are most definitely within our reach...
aftv should be good this time. one of their regulars recently said he couldn't believe they hadn't won the UEL yet. even after 4 seasons of poor displays in it. madness. it will be even better because they still talk shit about the UEL like the other pseudo-elitists when they are clearly not good enough to win it. all Arsenal's history is based on domestic only anyway. i don't know why they think they are better than this competition especially given their league standing. they have some serious delusion and/or blind faith in players that have failed them time and again under multiple managers now. maybe the cost of the front line? it simply doesn't add up

There are ways to go out the final stages of a knockout competition, that way of little urgency or risk taking would drive me nuts if I were an Arsenal fan. Especially when you only need a single goal.
Villareal taking the piss on Arsenal and I love it! Good evening.#UEL #EsNuestroMomento pic.twitter.com/bfoeV31rvC— Villarreal CF (@VillarrealCF) May 6, 2021
In last 5 years, Arsenal have been in the Super League for longer than they have Champions League. 2 days— Men in Blazers (@MenInBlazers) May 6, 2021 Meant to be funny but still speak volume about the state of Arsenal right now. They're a cautionary tale really and regardless of how bad it's gotten for us in the last 7-8yrs, it always can get worse...
LMAO... It really is a shame what has become of Arsenal. Honestly, it is also what has become of United, the difference is that we had more success commercial and on the pitch during our peak years so we are a little more insulated by our income. The state of Arsenal's squad now is appaling. This is a rung below United in the Djemba-Djemba years, but without Fergie at the helm. You have thoughts on Arteta? I don't for a second expect him to be competitive with this squad but out of Europe entirely is not on.
