That is a really distressing report. Worst part of it is how helpless it all feels. Nothing will be done, injustice will go on, and millions upon millions will tune into the World Cup. Capitalism is a hell of a drug.
In case there was any doubt left, Bale is nothing but a proper merc at this point... Ready and willing to return to Madrid after the Euros and assume his place on the fringe of the first team, spending his time primarily playing golf in sunny Spain.
yea. as soon as the groups are announced just about everyone will forget. imo this is an extension of valuing entertainment above all else that is in football that demeans some styles of play

The best people can do is not go to the WC in Qatar. It's the tourism that makes hosting these tournaments profitable. Don't go and don't spend your money in Qatar.
for the average person perhaps. the best would have been the countries boycotting the world cup due to the inhumanity or FIFA forcing them to agree to suitable pay and conditions for any WC related work with actual follow up and monitoring of the conditions. and then aside from the inhumane treatment and the losses of life, after the World Cup will Qatar even be able to make good use of these stadiums? or will they just end up unused and start to dilapidate like in Brasil?
Is easy to ignore a player’s back story when they are brilliant on the pitch. Alphonso Davies wants everyone to know he was born in a refugee camp to parents who fled a war. Wants others in same situation to know there is a positive future out there. 👏👏 https://t.co/53NztQXE7V— Simon Stone (@sistoney67) March 24, 2021 The story of Alphonso Davies is a really inspirational one.
.... UEFA to blow final whistle over financial fair-play:it will be announced a new system of financial control that will leave much more freedom of spending to clubs— Tancredi Palmeri (@tancredipalmeri) March 24, 2021 Imagine if that were to happen... Still need to see of course the system replacing it but surely that will be done to give the super spending oil clubs an even bigger advantage.
Superb goal from Dest to finally break the deadlock. TAKE A BOW, SERGIÑO DEST! The #USMNT defender cuts inside and fires home a ROCKET for his first international goal! 🚀🇺🇸 pic.twitter.com/F5jxhkpACy— U.S. Soccer Men's National Team (@USMNT) March 25, 2021
Aaronson makes it 2-0 (2nd in 3 appearances for him). Not a bad game at all. Beautiful combo here between Brenden Aaronson and Josh Sargent to make it 2-0.🇺🇸 Aaronson has scored in back-to-back #USMNT appearances🇺🇸 Sargent collects his first international assist#USAvJAM pic.twitter.com/l12HMmx6sQ— U.S. Soccer Men's National Team (@USMNT) March 25, 2021 Jamaica pulled one back, which could make the finish interesting. Lleget makes it 3-1 and that's game in all likelihood. Cool gesture from Germany and Norway respectively to highlight the human rights abuse that have been going for years now in Qatar. But what next, especially if those countries happen to qualify?
Such a blown opportunity on our part. This could have been us, being in a FA Cup semi final vs Soton at Wembley and playing in possibly the first game with some fans in attendance.
i agree. it seems random too and will always be prefaced by the fact he was 15 at the time. i think the bigger point here is the weak gesture to maintain the facade of tackling racism. lame
Gareth Bale: 'Too early' to decide on Tottenham future, says agent - BBC Sport After the backlash from Bale's comments from a few days ago, not surprising to see his agent trying to back away from them and put that fire out...
Ronaldo was kind mad when he had this goal ruled as not having crossed the line - would have been an extra-time winner ... Ronaldo scored a dramatic winner in the 93rd minute against Serbia to make it 3-2 to Portugal. But this was judged not to have crossed the line. You can imagine how furious he was pic.twitter.com/CRqkzXWUW3— FootballJOE (@FootballJOE) March 27, 2021
Ronaldo was (rightfully) upset and walked off the pitch before the official end of the match. THE END OF SERBIA-PORTUGAL WAS WILD 🤯Cristiano Ronaldo was visibly upset after he believed Portugal scored a late winner. pic.twitter.com/JaLAz2ghpl— ESPN FC (@ESPNFC) March 27, 2021 Cristiano Ronaldo walked off the pitch before the final whistle at the end of the Serbia-Portugal game, and threw his captain's armband in frustration. pic.twitter.com/I2i9uwkPhM— ESPN FC (@ESPNFC) March 27, 2021 Where was the goal line tech in this instance? That tech should be made mandatory for those type of games (even if VAR isn't). Edit: As an aside, Bruno got a yellow today and will therefore miss Portugal's game vs Luxembourg this Tuesday. Should work out well for everyone concerned. Portugal should have no issue taking care of them without him (even if Ireland somehow couldn't do so today) and from United's point of view, that is one less game he'll be running around, expanding more energy.
