So FIFA will ban every player on every top Euro team?

If they try that it could be the end of FIFA as we know it.

Countries would still be able to field teams. Players would transfer out of those clubs, most likely.

I would still watch the world cup if the top 30 players in the world didn't compete.

Or they could create their own world competition.

    LOL.

You take out the top 20 Euro clubs and who is going to pay those players the redic sums they make?

And who is going to watch a world cup without any of the players from the top 20 Euro clubs?

If FIFA follows through they will be committing suicide. Most of the money in the sport comes out of those top clubs.

it will be on the players to decide whether they want to play for Real, Juve, Barca, Man U, etc and not play in the world cup or the super league. The TV revenue will be shifted for the leagues, so players will still be able to make good money.

All this to say, it isn't going to happen IMO.

It’s not just FIFA it’s UEFA, Conmebol, CAF, Concacaf, AFC. They all will ban their players.

It sounds ultimately, that they Perez, Agnelli and the others are trying to get a new format for the CL. Away with the group stage and adopting "the swiss model."

"UEFA is considering replacing it with a format in which the 32 clubs would play 10 different opponents and qualification would come from one league table.

That would allow for more games and -- UEFA hopes -- more games that matter, generating higher revenues and greater fan interest."
