Second goal for Corea today in three games since joining Jönköpings Södra, this time with some help from a deflection. He started the game and played 67 minutes and the goal gave his team the 1-0 lead in the first half.

You could tell that the people doing the TV broadcast had also been impressed with his previous game since they focused a bit on him and he was also the Jönköping player they chose to interview before the game. However, he didn't stand out as much today as in the previous game. Probably in part because they played against a better opponent and Jönköping ended up losing the game 1-2. Still a decent performance overall by Corea though and impressive that he's scoring right away.

Corea played 70 minutes yesterday as Jönköpings Södra drew 2-2 against Ängelholm. The picture above is not from the game in question though since there's no rain in it and reports say that the game yesterday was played in monsoon-like conditions on a barely playable water filled pitch. This didn't stop Corea though who provided the assist on the first Jönköping goal. No video available but match reports say that the goal came after a corner but no further details on the assist. This makes it 2 goals and 1 assist in 4 games for Corea so far.

As a U17, at least, he seemed like a decent prospect with very good technique. Not sure he had the kind of athleticism needed to be a starting attacker in MLS, especially as a young player still finding his feet, but he has the potential to make it as a pro. Nice to see him starting to perform at a reasonably high competitive level.

I don't want to sound too much like an italian agent pretending to be an italian journalist here (yes, I sometimes browse the non-swedish threads on here so I'm now making this obscure reference ;)) but I thought he looked very interesting in the two televised games I watched. Very slick with the ball at his feet and a smart passer. If he keeps up those performances (and his discipline outside of the game) for the rest of this season and the first half of the next one I think a move up to Allsvenskan would be very likely next summer.

Here are some comments from Corea on the matter to local newssite Jnytt:

"Everything has been great and the people at the club are fantastic, but things have happened back home which I need to take care of. I've already spoked with the manager and he understands me. I'm on my way to the afternoon training where I will tell the guys on the team what have happened. Everything feels strange and this is very sudden, and I want to apologize to everyone for things turning out this way. But I have to go home, that's the way it is."

That's not the worst move. Jeremiah White managed to get a cap out of his time at that level.

He signed a longer 2.5 year deal later in 2013 according to Wikipedia. He's still playing for Skive, who are in the Danish 1st Division (which I think is the 2nd tier). Although he didn't play in their first game this season.
