These Slovenian players played in NBA.:)

    Brezec, Primoz 2001-2009 - Slovenian.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Primož_Brezec

Dragic, Goran 2008-2009 - he is of Serbian heritage, because he said that he is fluent in Serbian, he didn't mentioned Croatian.;) He needs translators for Croatian.:D

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goran_Dragić

Milic, Marko 1997-1998, probably Serbian, Montenegrin or Croatian. His mother is Slovenian.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marko_Milič

Nachbar, Bostjan 2002-2007 - Nachbar means neighbor in German, he is probably of Austrian heritage. Slovenes have strong Steiermark group. He was born in near of Austrian border.

    Nesterovic, Radoslav 1998-2009 - Serbian.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radoslav_Nesterović

Vujacic, Sasha 2004-2009, Serbian father, Slovenian mother.

Slovenia is a strong team, maybe they won't be in semi-finals, but they play on experience, plenty of NBA players for such a small country. They also have tradition in basketball. Slovenian basketball club: Union Olimpija is well known in Europe.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KK_Union_Olimpija

Their nickname is Dragons, they have him in their coat of arms.:D

One of great Slovenian players was Jure Zdovc:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jure_Zdovc

    Peter Vilfan: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_Vilfan

    Slovenia national basketball team:

Croatia won against Montenegro today, tomorrow we play against Bosna i Hercegovina.:D Bad edition of Bosnia against Finland. I though that Finland was worse team in our group. Macedonia won against Greece. They have issues about their border, so that's why Macedonians got motive.:D
Now we can expect dramatic ending here.

So, Bosnia go and lose 92-64 to Finland yesterday. Very dissapointing, but today was such a different story! We defeated Croatia 92-80! What a nice result for us, leaving this group wide open. I think a win tomorrow puts us throught to the next round. Anyways results from today along with standings:

Very changeable, I don't expect to much against Greece, but we are always motivated against good teams. Greece was favorite of our group.

Wow, Bosnia lose to Macedonia and are out of EuroBasket, but at least we placed 13th. In other news, Russia defeats Slovenia by a single point and Group D finishes as expected. Greece defeat Croatia and they're knocked out. Meanwhile, Finland progress to the second round while winnning against Montenegro. Great Britain shocks Poland, while Turkey upset Spain. France defeats Serbia in overtime in a battle for first place. Latvia are edged by Germany, but only by one point.

Henry Domercant disagrees with this statement.

Boshko McCalebbovski is a great player, but only in the NBA does one man make a team. Pero Antic is a beast, as is Gecevski, and the Stojanovski brothers are for the future. The key to our performances is ball control and teamwork.

Slovenia defeated. Now, we conquer Russia!

Bosnia has Mirza Teletovic, Nihad Deovic, Vasiljevic, and more. We should've had Preldzic, begic, etc. but that's another story.

So here's what went on today:

    Group F

    1. Russia 4/0 8
    2. F.Y.R. of Macedonia 4/0 8
    3. Greece 2/2 6
    4. Slovenia 1/3 5
    --------------------
    5. Finland 1/3 5
    6. Georgia 0/4 4

    Georgia 73-87 Finland

    Macedonia 68-59 Slovenia

    Greece 67-83 Russia

Group E finishes off with their last group day tomorrow. The top four will progress to the quarterfinal of Eurobasket 2011. As for the games today, Finland and Macedonia continue their surprises and Russia wipes out Greece. What a group this is.

What an amzing tournament this has been, right? We've had the surprising teams Like Macedonia, for example, and the usual powers (ike Spain). I nice balance. 24 teams have been really good too, better than we all expected. It's shown the true quality European basketball has.

I've been pleasantly surprised by Macedonia. How does it work in term of qualification for the Olympics games in London next year? Will every team in the EuroBasket knockout phase qualify?

Unfortunately I think Todor Gecevski is out for the tournament with a hand injury. This will hurt our chances as we will have lost a key player and have less depth.

Anyway, just hoping for a respectable scoreline v Russia. The quarterfinals is what we should be prepping for.

    My picks:

Spain VS Slovenia (just want to see Slovenia get far in this and pull up the upset)

Maecedonia VS Lithuania (Hard to determine, considering how good Macedonia have been so far)

France VS Greece (France always seem to run out of gas soon)

Russia VS Serbia (this might be the markee game of this round, Russia are on a roll though, unbeaten so far)
