Just signed a extension last year too.. every game he didn't play you could tell they were missing him.... he still has a good 2-3 years left in him; really don't understand their transfer policy at times lol.
Problem is the departure of Xabi leaves RM without a decent ballwinner. Khedira is playing out the last year of his contract this season and will not extend... That leaves them with a more attack minded Kroos in CM with Modric.. None good at doing donkey work. Without DiMaria we're looking at a non-formative side without a true leader or catalyst when the going gets tough
