France missed as many chances as we did yesterday. Only 1 goal means we go on top of standings, and if we can draw them friday we have a chance to win the group

I don’t really trust de Ligt, and he’s not much faster than de Vrij IMO. I’d put van de Ven before him if we’re talking pace. With that being said, de Ligt does have more experience with the Dutch NT and thus, more credit with Koeman.

As far as the midfield goes, I have no idea what Koeman has in mind, but Frenkie and Koopman are indeed missed. Especially when you think that Gini could make an (invisible) appearance again. Reijnders and Schouten seem assured though I’m not the biggest fan of the latter.

Reijnders can be box to box, Schouten the one who mops up anything that tries to go through and Simons to play in between lines and create opportunities. Gakpo, Zirkzee and Malen up top. Ake, Virgil, van de Ven and Dumfries. Verbruggen.

I can’t fathom they risk playing him Friday.

He could possibly play with a mask on, but even still wouldnt the nose need a few days to heal before you can play with a mask?? I would think so, but what the hell do I know

I read he might be out for the entire group stage, in fact. Anyways, with France getting three points and surely them taking something off of Poland - once again, no way they take the risk. Knockout, he’s the masked man for sure!

Latest news is France will make a decision right before the game.

Koeman very unlikely to start Zirkzee ahead of Memphis or Weghorst, same as starting Van De Ven ahead of Ake, De Ligt or De Vrij as CB. Van De Ven is likely a backup of Ake. Xavi could have been tested as attacking midfield, like Griezmann for France but Koeman already makes up his mind to use Xavi as RW, and Gakpo as LW. He will not change in this tournament.

    Interesting facts:

    - Mbappe has 6 goals in his last four games against Netherlands.
    - Mbappe still hasn't scored in the Euros

Last game was a rare moment when no Ajax player playing for NT (De Ligt, Blind, Bergwijn and Gravenberch on the bench). I do not recall when the last time was. I think Mbappe will be in the game lineup but may not start. If France fall behind, he may come in. I hope Koeman prepares well for this match. I'm excited for this match (maybe the top 2 anticipated group stage with Spain - Italy the other one).

Arda Guler with (so far) the goal of the tournament.

    He's only 19 years old

I’m thinking we will see 5-3-2/3-5-2 for added security.
I’m expecting Van de Ven to start on the left, as far as the right side goes I’m going to say Dumfries.
    Hoping Veerman is benched.
    Xavi at 10
    Reijnders 8
    Schouten 6
    Memphis Gakpo up top
I would look to press French defenders who are suspect with the ball I believe.

You mean the below 11 right?
    Verbruggen
Dumfries De Vrij Van Dijk Ake Van De Ven
    Schouten Xavi Reijnders
    Memphis Gakpo
    I like that.

I can't recall if I mentioned this here. Turkey can be a dark horse in this tournment under italian coach montella. With so many tactician in the team it may come down to how good their no 9 is clinically. Dutch are expected to meet either of portgual or turkey in the R16 if I'm not wrong. Anyone else have checked this

You reckon dembele vs ven der ven will be good match up. I would start maatsen at LWB to both flanks attacking and providing and linking up with forwards.

Kind of envy for Turkey cause they do have some young talents in the team who shone. What are our under-20 players in the existing NT team?

Albania really impressed me. I think even Netherlands would have a hard time dealing with them.
