I think it's great we can just decide we don't need to compete at world cups anymore and still LOL at England

Listening now to the various autopsies on what went wrong for England. I really think that there was nothing Southgate could have done. His entire coaching philosophy depended on relying on the strength of the single. But all of England’s talent was loaded in the 3/4s. Rice is a good midfielder, not a great midfielder. Stones is a good defender, not a great defender. Pickford, average. I do agree that he could have shook things up a bit regards to starting Palmer etc. but I don’t think it would have mattered. This Spain team is so good, they can wreck you 10 different ways. You want to sit in your half? Fine they will suffocate you. You want to attack them? Fine, you open up spaces and they punish you on the counter. The Spanish team is not as good as the golden generation of 2008-2012 on the paper, but they are so much more enjoyable. Those goals were top class.

 

maybe you should worry more about your beloved Brazil. No one talks about them but they’ve done less than us in last 20 years.

 

shit happens. In between those two missed WCs we dominated, won a euro and set the record I mentioned before. even leading up to tourney we were crushing teams including 9-1 over Armenia.
