I admit I never watch their games or league but speaking about levels, other than PSG, as I recall living in Europe, Ligue 1 was always crap.

    Does that still apply?

feels like euro 2004 all over again many strong teams but no generational team here ahead of he pack. Even Gigio is about the same age Buffon was in 2004. I think we get out of the groups given the modern format but if it were the old format we'd probably go out with a win and two draws again.

feel like any of the top 7 teams and a dark horse could win it. I still have Germany in the final winning but less convened of my France pick as the other finalists. Deschamp seems like he stayed on a tournament too far with his set up today. We really do have the only good manager here well Germany seem to have a good one too.

They don't do well in Europe the coefficient drop off from Germany to France is steep.
People often use the phrase top 5 league but really the top 4 are the only ones that have stayed relevant.

Yes I believe there are 4 as well.

    EPL
    La Liga
    Serie A
    Bundesliga

The rest, ma va , va , VA!

I do however , think the Portuguese Liga with the influx of Brazilians is good or exciting to watch but not sure if they make or pay out much revenue.

Why didn't France sub in 38-year-old AC Milan-LAFC forward, Olivier Giroud?

I mean I know he is old but for 30 minutes, he could have played and at only 1-0, they could have easily tried to get an insurance goal.....

    Is he injured?

    I must have missed it.

They may as well kept him on the bench and put in a defender at that point....

This was not the biggest upset in Euros history. MSN, go figure.

Iceland vs England, Denmark '92, Greece '04.

Greece, in 2004 had a great team and run.

Too bad it all ended with that tournament.

France have earned the favorites tag and have a lot of depth but I want to see how Mbappé plays with the discomfort of having to wear a protective mask now that his nose is broken. I know it didn't stop Victor Osimhen 2 seasons ago.

Also, like Italy, their Defence pairing don't have a lot of experience together.

Credit to Austria. Group D is severely underrated.

Ligue 1 has two problems, 1. No one in the US can watch it, and 2. Reims Rennes Lille OL Marseille Monaco Nice all should be competitive including internationally (on rotation), but they've been forced into lower tier positions because of PSG's financial dominance and the particulars of FFP.

Premier League has the same issue with number 2. Arsenal and Liverpool etc are great teams, but because of the Manchester City issue in their own league, they're unable to compete internationally, they have to focus everything they have on their starting 11 and don't have the bench for midweek. Having one or two financially dominant teams in the league just screws up the entire system, and FFP is cementing those few teams into dominant positions forever because they only take the hammer to the second tier teams.

    Kind of like Italy.

After Juve, Inter and Mila, everything drops off.

Roma , Lazio and Napoli have fans but no one else can hang for too long.

Maybe Bologna did well this year, but they will probably end up being the new Chievo.

    Tutto fumo niente arrosto....
