I’m saying there’s no reason why you cannot do it personally. Seems very plausible, plus you get 10 days in the Balearics or Malta, what’s not to like?
You’d surely think they’d take an allocation for UK-based fans? At least let your fans have a chance of seeing Germany.
Well said. UEFA is keeping it in London only for money sake (more people in London will be able to pay more money, and they will likely be able to fill all those seats with either expats or curious locals) but logistically it makes no sense. Of course, money talks with corrupt institutions like UEFA
Biggest problem is that without the DFB allocation, fans supporting Germany (like me) will be scattered around the "home" crowd vastly outnumbered. I had general tickets from the English FA for the last game in Nov 2017 and the drab draw meant people around me were chill. This time I am not so sure the stewards can keep me safe with all the high tension and significance for the England fans. Probably can't even celebrate on Tuesday at Wembley.
Why have the DFB not specifically held back tickets, for local fans? Have a valid German passport no, and register and get a link. Surely it cannot be too difficult to process? Very disappointing that.
Evening, I was at the England Croatia game and there was no segregation. Fans were scattered around the stadium but in the upper tier where I was most of the Croats went and stood together in a block and a group of England fans gathered next to them. It provided a decent atmosphere but of course we won so that probably made things easier. I appreciate England Germany has a different history but I'd hope, perhaps naively, that it can pass off reasonably regardless of the result. Enjoy the match, just not too much!
Guys, finals will be in London, that's it. At least, there will be ~60.000 spectators on Wembley. What about the QFs ? I understand the german complaints regrading ENG- GER, I understand italian complaints about ITA-AUT, but Munchen and Rome will host a QF with 13.000 spectators. That's not normal when you have Budapest (or Bucharest, or Copenhagen) And about Baku, what can be said ? They are even worst than UK. At this moment foreigners can't enter in Azerbaidjan. Yes, there will be an exception for the fans of the teams involved. But we don't know yet the teams involved. So, at this point there is no foreigner who can say for sure that will attend the game. This would be the easiest change of venue, with the most logical arguments. P.S. if Rome and Munchen will remain with only 13.000 spectators, both these QFs should be moved. About Baku, there is nothing to talk, there is a must.
Suspect it totally depends where you're sat/stood. England fans are a very mixed bunch, from experience (& as an England fan), and I guess it only takes one idiot. I was in pretty mixed areas for both the Croatia & Scotland games, and had a similar experience to you - it was all very friendly, but I can understand someone having reservations closer to capacity, in a more heated game, with more at stake.
In the last couple of days I have bought tickets from @Clunker @Kimbo19051978 @luck2607 Everything worked smooth and all the tickets was face value, recommended users.
The whole inclusion of Azerbaijan was ludicrous to begin with, even more so when it was paired with Rome, knowing a side and fans would have to travel in between places. I’d have no issue with Azerbaijan holding a tournament as a whole, but to include it, when it is seemingly in the farthest part of Europe, was just ridiculous. The capacity for the remaining games makes absolutely zero sense either. I understand there’s concerns over safety (and following news that fans contracted the Delta variant in Copenhagen, that won’t help), but if people are vaccinated, if people provide a negative test, surely hou can bring Munich and Rome to 35,000 each?
Have to disagree with the following aspect: The number of allowed spectators isn't the issue, the issue is that international fans are (currently) excluded from games in the UK. So an increase of spectators (like in Wembley) is pointless if not international fans are allowed to enter the country. It's actually a perfect example of hypocrisy: One the one hand, UK is currently so dangerous people have to quarantine when entering the country, but at the same time it's safe enough to allow an increased number of spectators at Wembley? It's either/or.
Do we think the sale of new tickets for the semi-final and final due to the increase in capacity will include Fans First tickets?
Nothing wrong with Baku hosting in itself as the people of Azerbaijan have just as much right to host matches as any other UEFA member, but given its geographic location it should have hosted a self contained group.
It's daft but not for the reason you say. The attitude is that because we're quarantining foreigners, Britain is safe so we can open up Wembley. I know it doesn't make sense either. Germany has a much lower infection rate but also a much lower vaccination rate, it's a coin toss between them really.
That’s what I’ve said. It’s entirely unaccessible, they paired it with Rome, and there were no direct flights between the two. Azerbaijan to hold the entire thing, would be a great spectacle, but to be included on this occasion was just backwards.
I mean both sides are doing the same thing. The UK points to its high vax rate and the EU’s relatively lower vax rate and says “you’re more dangerous, don’t come in” The EU points to the UK’s rising case rate and emergence of the Delta Variant and says “you’re more dangerous, don’t come in” A lot of it is political theater, but UEFA has chosen to placate the UK for the semis and final instead of all the other nations outside of it, mostly for financial reasons. It makes no sense logically but it is what it is.
The logic is right there. Sadly, UEFA have one interest, and one interest only, and that’s Profit. They’re going to choose the place which has 20,000 hospitality seats which start at €980 + VAT per person. The regular every day fan, like you or I will always come last. No other venue can give them that. That’s why they hosted two CL finals in 4 years, and will host another in the near future.
I think you didn't get the point. We have two different problems at this moment: 1. low capacity in some venues (Baku, Rome, Munchen, Sevilla, Glasgow) 2. exclusion of international fans in some venues (London, Glasgow, Baku) We talked a lot about problem 2 (London), but we didn't talk about problem 1. An increase capacity is not pointless, as you said. I give you some reasons: - a highest number of fans can attend the game (even if they are only locals) - as a consequence the UEFA incomes will be higher - even for those who watch in TV, a game played in a packed stadium is more pleasant to watch than a game in an empty stadium. Excepting UK and Azerbaidjan, rest of the venues allow international fans. From all these venues you should choose those with highest capacity. It's a matter of common sense for such high-profile games.
Asking a question on behalf of a Romanian friend of mine - has anyone had any category 3 tickets come through into the app for the France vs Switzerland game? He knows someone with Cat 2 tickets that have received them but none for his cat 3 (his dad has the same problem too). Is it normal and when can they expect their tickets? thanks
He only bought his yesterday, but it’s close to game so not sure if this is normal, ive not bought any through UEFA yet
Unlikely it will let you cart anything though... https://euro2020-sales.tickets.uefa.com/secure/selection/event/seat/performance/551196054/lang/en
